Alliance Wins Battle for Alterac Valley!
After a more than month long battle between Hearthstone Players, the Alliance has come out victorious! This means that Vanndar Stormpike will get a Diamond version in game that will be awarded to EVERYONE! A date for when this will happen was not announced, but one would assume it comes with the next big patch.
The Honor reward system that was introduced will continue even after the Faction winner is now known, and will still reward the Golden Faction leader of the opposite faction than the one you chose. You can also still get both cards from opening packs!
Congratulations to the winning faction of the Battle of Alterac Valley:

blizz employee: "oh shieet... we gotta make that card diamond as promised, right? eh, we'll start tomorrow."
The irony is that we, horde players, now dont need to finish this Garbage Honor Grind to get the other legendary lol. Thank you alliance, enjoy the Grind for Drek'Thar.
Already did. And how is that a grind? You can easily make it just by completing your daily quests.
why do people even care? if its ffa why would anyone wanted to use it anyway? its nothing special if everyone has it. i wouldnt dream of using any of that free stuff, after all I AM A WHALE .
Am I correct that if you had chosen the Horde, than by the end of the month you will get Horde leg as well as the Alliance one but if you had chosen the Alliance, you will have two versions of the same leg?
No matter what you chose you'd end up with both cards in golden + one diamond. The first you pick, the second you get after 7200-ish honor. You have about 3 months now to get Drek'thar with honor. The refund period might be over, so pray he won't be in a pack :)
"Vandarr is such a cool card!"
Love all the people saying this. Only seen it played twice and I killed the person before they could play any of the discounted minions. Drek'thar is a card that has a huge swing turn when you play it and isn't required to pull off a win. If you don't draw Vandarr, you lose as the meta is too fast to be playing huge cost minions. And even then, you probably still lose if you play him on curve since you barely have any early game to stop aggro decks. Hope everyone enjoys their dead diamond card.
Tempo is always going to be better in a post-Stormwind quest world where combo setup just gets you killed.
Lol...this post is such a sniveling gripe-job, while at the same time, pompous and condescending of how and why others, besides yourself may enjoy the game. Impressive.
EXACTLY THIS ! Vanndar is borderline meme card, especially in this meta, Drek'thar clearly is the better card to anyone with atleast half a brain
cool != good
Vanndar as a concept is waaaaaaaaaaaaay cooler than Drek'thar, you need to build your deck in a specific way to make it work instead of just throwing him into literally any aggro deck.
Alliance got the better card. Unfortunately I am Horde. The Diamond would look better for the Horde card
Guess they didn't realize you can get both cards haha
So you had bad RNG? Nah, its not rigged.
Bad matchmaking? Nah, its not rigged.
The Alliance won? WTF its rigged for sure!!!
Yay, they won because Activision said so, with no recordkeeping or measure of anyone's contribution!
are you fkin serious XDDD
LMAO!!!! I love how personally so many people are taking this......as though Blizzard have made a conscious decision to find out who prefers Horde and who prefers Alliance just so they can make up a fake result just to stick the finger up at Horde players.
Seriously, get over yourselves. You're getting a free card, in a free game where they don't strictly have to give you a free ANYTHING. It's supposed to be something they've put into the game to add an extra element of fun and competitiveness and most people can't see past their own greed and self importance.
Goddamn ungrateful snowflake generation
They should just give everyone the diamond version of the one they chose in the first place.
of course we get the diamond card that never seen play. makes sense, blizzard hates us.
I see Vandar played more often than Drek'thar (in wild at least).
I haven't been playing Standard the last couple weeks.
