Hearthstone Reaches 30 Million Players
It's getting a bit crowded here in the inn! Hearthstone's registered user base is up 5 million players from February when it was announced that there were 25 million players during the Blizzard Q4 2015 Earnings Report.
The news was shared this morning on the @PlayHearthstone Twitter.
When did you Start Playing Hearthstone?
Now that there's 30 million players out there, we want to know when you started playing the game. Have you been around since the early days of closed beta, or are you a newer member of the community joining in during Blackrock Mountain?
For the comments: Why did you start playing Hearthstone?
Deck Spotlight: Dragons & Demons
In tonight's deck spotlight we're checking out Emogirly's Dragons & Demons Warlock deck. The deck works on the principal of aggression, with some viable late game options should you need them. It should also be noted that this deck is not heavy on dragons, but it does make use of Volcanic Drake, which can be played quite cheaply thanks to all the tokens you can summon through cards such as Imp Gang Boss and Imp-losion.
In does have some issues against Handlock, Mage, and Grim Patron Warriors, so if you're fighting a lot of that, this deck may not be for you.
You can start crafting this deck by checking out the card list below, or head on over to the deck guide to learn more about how to play this deck, how to mulligan efficiently, and potential card replacements.

I started playing back in closed beta -- because the music made me feel warm inside :)
I started in open beta or release I believe.
I got the first card back then got frustrated how I didn't have any cards, so I missed the rainbow back from either season 2 or 3.
I doubt I'll ever be able to get it back but it isn't one I really liked.
I started playing around Christmas of 2014. I missed getting the "Maurading Maraad" card back (season 10) because I was too intimidated to play ranked games. Ah, if I only knew then what I know now.
I was invited to the closed beta on December 12, 2013. I still haven't gotten any better.
30 million and they all dam face hunters
Been playing since CBT. Hadn't realised it had been that long, thought I'd been playing it for like a year or so. Still play a couple of ranked games every day, it's a good game. :)
Technically, Naxx had come out and GvG was being teased when I joined. And I joined because of just continual exposure to it. I thought, 'Damn, man, people really like this card game! And I like cardgames; But I'm not really into World of Warcraft... Meh, it's free so I guess I can give it a whirl.'
We're just talking about the official game releases! There weren't too many on cockatrice anyway ;p
What was cockatrice? Google only gave me the mythical animal!
A friend showed me the game and I have not stopped playing.
I'm glad I got in early, so by the time the expansions came out, I already had a fair amount of cards to experiment with, instead of having to buy old packs.
Got a key for the closed beta, didn't start playing till open beta (regrets).
Started playing in closed beta thanks to Hearthpwn. I got my key through you guys. It was an awesome gift. Thanks!
I got mine at the same time. I wonder if they just gave keys to all who wanted them at that point.
and how many bots?
During Season 2 (~1yr ago) I decided to see what all the fuss was about. Still loving.
PS: I never played any Blizzard game before HS. I knew the games, like the lore I heard, just didn't play.
Really interesting to see the amount of people who were in Hearthstone since the closed Beta (I myself only joined after it released, due to not having a very good computer at the time).
Obviously, though, these people aren't in the majority of players - they just appear to be the most invested in the community, likely due to their long time playing the game and probably the fact that they've made friends from it. I know I've personally been really helped by the Hearthstone community, if only because everyone here is generally so nice to everyone and makes you feel welcome.
Thanks for getting me through some tough times, Hearthstone and Hearthpwn - even if you didn't know you were doing it :)
I think the community (on here anyway) is largely very helpful. It's nice to find a welcoming community online sometimes!
cool
As a fan of card gamers and BIG fan of blizzard/warcraft franchise and an ex player, when i read about hs,my heart was shaking.i am playing from day one, every day and it looks like my biggest addiction.Hope the community to grow up bigger and bigger day by day
