We’ll be hosting category-wide Twitch Drops during Theorycrafting Livestreams on December 2! You’ll earn one Fractured in Alterac Valley pack for watching two hours of any Hearthstone steam, and then another pack for watching another two hours at any time between December 2 at 10 a.m. PT and December 3 at 10 p.m. PT. Make sure that your Battle.net and Twitch accounts are linked so that you can get your rewards!
Pre-Release Weekend
Scout the battlefield during Pre-Release Weekend from December 3-6. At your private Fireside Gathering, you’ll be able to open your Fractured in Alterac Valley card packs before the expansion officially launches on December 7. In addition to opening your packs early, pre-release will also feature Fireside Brawls that will let you play with the new cards:
One Tavern Brawl will let you try out all the new Factured in Alterac Valley deck recipes for free!
Another will let you play a crazy deck with any cards you open from your pre-purchases, no matter the class restrictions or how many copies!
Private pre-release Fireside Gatherings can take place the weekend before Fractured in Alterac Valley goes live, from December 3 at 10 a.m. PT to December 6 at 10 a.m. PT.
Had Thisj running in my background to get the free packs today. Checked in a few times and saw a bunch of long games, but one full game I saw was Thisj fighting someone who figured out aggro druid with the 10 AV card requirement. He got stomped and game was over turn 5. Meta ain't changing any.
Usually, I've been against these theorycraft streams, but I gotta say, it's been fun to consume some Hearthstone content that wasn't dominated by quests!
I liked Zeddy's new video. His analysis was that the best cards of AV will be....old cards.

I love it when Blizzard can't get their times straight /s
Tweet says drops start at 9 am PT, the forum post they link says 10 am PT. Well played.
No quest disruption was added.
Nothing will change.
And what do you think should a neutral quest disruption look like? The obvious one is „your enemy can‘t make progress for X turn.“, but which else? There is not „the solution“ for every quest. I think that the new cards will shake up the meta quite a bit (f.e.: DR/shuffle Warlock) and with hard to remove cards like the 3/5 legendary, forgot its name, you need to play minions and a variety of cards, so that quest mage and warlock need to deal with.
Hungry Quest Crab: 2 mana 2/3 Battlecry: Fail your opponent's quest.
Every other mechanic in the game has a hard counter. Why are quests special?
demon seed kills all of the new slow stuff
But Questlock can no longer beat aggro the way it used to.
Don't worry -- if the holy trinity of Paladin-Warrior-Hunter isn't topping the charts, Blizzard will take immediate action. Those are the only classes allowed to dominate.
I intentionally don't watch these because I want to come up with my own stuff and I wish these didn't exist.
I also wish there was some way to freeze out HsReplay and some of these other sites from doing what they do so we could have a few days of purity with the new set. But of course thats a whole other thing and impossible
nvm the post has been updated...
Probably same as always 4 hours total. Watch 2 hours, claim you pack and then 2 more.
So many creators have been AWOL or streaming other games ... I wonder if some of them won't even bother with this, or maybe weren't invited due to inactivity?
Yes! While I'm at work!
Why theorycraft? while quests exist you only can play quests
Exactly. Theorycraft is just a word for marketing and promotion to get as much money on preorders.
Even if that were true (and it's not -- three of the top five decks do not use Questlines), many Questlines can benefit from the addition of new cards, including some Hero cards.
They just want to market the expansion to make more people buy it in the last few days. They always have the restriction of decks with at least 10 new cards so a lot of alterac cards that will see no play end up being on this streams.
I love theorycrafting and talking about it with other people, but watching a well known content creator do it just makes me vomit in my mouth a little.
Maybe it's because they actually get access to the new cards before everyone else and they're only doing it because they're paid to?
I dunno.
They are not getting paid to, as far as I know, but they do benefit from boosted viewership during this time.
I agree that it's a little bit gross.
