How does eat work? It's the same wording as Mutanus, so will deathrattle trigger? Ultimate counter to Rattlegore?
Compare with Runaway Blackwing
When will the powercreep stop?
I prefer Runaway Blackwing
That can't kill minions with divine shield.
I like that it's an end of turn effect, if the opponent cant kill you the next turn, it basicly has taunt.
This dude's got the munchies!
8 mana, below average 4 drop stats/premium 3 drop, at the end of your turn cast Deadly Shot and get some stats. I guess it's good for a control vs control match but against aggro it will kill a random 1/1 and do nothing else. You can think of it as a Runaway Blackwing or a Ragnaros the Firelord that can't go face.
Runaway Blackwing is actually pretty good and this is one mana cheaper. Aggro does not actually play 1/1s.
but runaway blackwing is already a 9/9 when you play it. In arena is good (and this one will also be good in arena), in constructed it doesn't see play at all (0.3% play rate on hsreplay and it was play 1000 times. For context, Nobleman was played 2 times more)
The aggro decks that can stay competitive as late as turn 8 usually have minions far bigger than 1/1s, there's plenty of 4/4s and 5/6s and even 8/8s and stuff. So this will usually be at least an 8/8 or so the turn you play it, and it can keep growing.
Don't get me wrong, it's not a good anti-aggro card by any means, simply by virtue of the fact that it's an 8 drop, and games against aggro are usually mostly decided by that point. However, whenever you're on turn 8 and the game is still very undecided (in other words pretty much always against control and occasionally against aggro), this can be a hell of a card.
I'd expect it to not see much play since we've rarely seen control metas lately, and this isn't great against either aggro or combo decks, but it will depend on the rest of the cards in the set.
I think it's a semi-viable card that could potentially see some play, particularly in decks that run big minions. I don't think that's insane to say.
I think eaten is considered removed from board. I consider destroy effects for hand are discard, and in deck is burn.
So in Arena you can never drop a big minion on a empty board, Hooray.
just play your own lieutanant duh
Sometimes Mutanus the Devourer will eat this. Sometimes it will eat Mutanus. Ingonyama nengw' enamabala, the circle of life.
Little Mutanus is outnumbered. The abominations will have their meat.
Insta ban in arena, unplayable in standard (so far). Big RIP
I love this card. Defo my fav of the set so far. Imagine a rogue building a big fat Edwin later in the game and this gets dropped and noms it.
I like the amount of expensive cards we're getting. Finally not 99% aggro stuff.
Hang on to the hope, because the cards dump in the last week before the expansion launch will be full of aggro stuffs.
Removal for Big Druid decks - good turn 5 play after Vanndar Stormpike
