This looks neat but there is no way I'm paying any money for it. Who knows if it'll really be good. And the bundles they put out already are really costly. Quite arrogant of Blizzard to think someone will pay $50 or $100 up front for an untested play mode. I hope free to play players are not completely shut out.

This is an explanation we deserved from the very beginning. I think I probably won't buy a preorder as I don't know if I will enjoy this mode. With Battlegrounds we had Beta version which was free to see first before they started to sell cosmetics and those Passes. The same with Duels because it requires cards from main game mode, so you bought cards for it by the way. This time the situation if very different.

I have negative hype for this, actively dreading all the quests I’ll have to waste my rerolls on that involve this mode in anyway, most of all the ones that “reward” you with merc packs.

edit: not to mention they may just bundle these worthless packs in with actual expansion bundles and use them to replace actually useful bundle bonuses like arena tickets or the tavern pass.

Exactly this. I've had to reroll a weekly quest related to Battlegrounds on Monday, and it was another BG quest. So Tuesday I rerolled it again, and it was ANOTHER BG one. That's a mode I've zero interest in, and now it's delayed my ability to complete a quest by two days through no fault of my own. I am not keen on that possibly spreading to other modes.

New addition to the game, i like it.

One need only look at the literal spam of $50+ bundles of garbage every few days for this new mode to realize where their priorities are at.  I've never seen such an absurd amount of pre-order bundles for shit in my life.  Not even EA dare stoop this low.

I think they are done with new modes for the rest of the game. It needs a good team to remodel what still works.

Its less money intensive than normal HS and you can farm anything. Thats what people dont get. if you support HS blizz still gets your money if not why should you even care?

I could have easily seen myself playing this mode and even preordering for this mode if they had been more clear what the game was, what was in the preorders, what the exclusivity was for the preorders and finally, it’s too damn expensive. I really hope this launch loses money for them, there needs to be a lesson that you can’t tag on a mystery mode that is unclear whether it’s a rpg, rogue like or straight up gacha, and expect people to pay full price AAA game for one of multiple bundles.

People dont need to buy anything. Play the mode of you like it or dont. But spare us the "I hope it fails" BS.

 It’s not just not knowing what will be in the new mode, but using Diablo and lich king preorder bundles to trigger fomo without saying whether or not they will actually be exclusive to preorders. This is really poor business practices and it feels bad.

There's literally dozens of websites that mention you can farm for Diablo and Lich King. I get that Blizzard didn't communicate that especially well, but you're literally whining about an issue that doesn't even exist.

Think of how many dev resources were diverted for this money grab mode.

Does this mode earn you tournament points? No. No point of playing anything else than standard mode. Maybe if you are bored and want to chill for a minute or two 

99% dont carer about about tournament points and I play rather vs computer enemies with meme decks than play vs mages all day long. 

Unless you are one of the 0.0001% of players who is good enough at ladder for it to actually contribute any 'tournament points' no modes actually 'matter'.  We just play the game for un.
