This week's brawl is Half & Half!
Rules:
Create a deck of 15 cards. At the start of the game, we'll complete your deck with a copy of your opponent's!
Rewards:
A Year of the Phoenix Card Pack for winning the Brawl once.
If you have a great deck for this brawl, create it in our deckbuilder, and share it with the world! Just make sure to label the Deck Type as a "Tavern Brawl" while saving and it might show up on the front page!
Nozdormu the Eternal is an inspired choice. I thought I'd try it too, and then...
This is now the only way I can enjoy this brawl. Nozdormu ftw.
Enforce your meme onto the enemy. No disruption better than stealing most of their turn by surprise permanently.
Thanks for the inspiration!
I might add that Start of Game effects work weird in this brawl. It feels like Baku the Mooneater checks your deck before it's shuffled with your opponents and Nozdormu the Eternal checks both decks after they're shuffled together.
I hate how viable this is - the opponent will think you have a gameplan, probably play the quest t1 wasting both tempo and a card, while actually it's just random deck brawl on a timer. The basic plan with random deck brawls is figuring out the balance between playing for tempo or value, being the aggressor or the defensive player - it's a true midrange game, something the newer players have never experienced, and even veterans haven't expected in constructed for years.
One important trick is to queue your attacks before playing anything, otherwise you run out of time, and your opponent likely won't figure that out. I'm also running secrets because they trigger really slow, and experimenting with some other cards with slow animations, like Arcane Missiles type effects. Warrior with Acolytes of Pain, Armorsmiths, and whirlwind effects could work for this, as well as priest with any draw engine such as Northshire Cleric.
The usual 2 of the same card limit doesn't apply to this brawl. I stuffed 3 of the same card in my deck with golds and normals.
And as someone else mentioned, Hero Power Mage seems to be the route to take since it fills the majority of decks with useless cards.
Yea HP mage seemed like the most obvious choice for one and done im not sure about Mordresh though - even 1 or 0 wildfires seem fine. gotta Love freezing the other board nonestop with HPs
ice walker + Spirit of the Dragonhawk or Reckless Apprentice
Alright Mr Shaman, let’s see how well you can use cards from Ping Mage.
I can't try this, cause I have neither the card nor the dust on Americas server, btu I wonder what happens when you put Maestra of the Masquerade in a Rogue deck, without Rogue cards, as your "half".
I doubt it's actually any GOOD, but it might be funny at least.
Well, I'll tell you what - I did try this... I mean, I put Maestra of the Masquerade in my deck, just for fun.
Despite the fact that all the cards are already integrated into each deck from the beginning, maestra does not transform the opponent. :\
