Quote from BlizzardAre you ready for the biggest Battlegrounds update to date?! To start, we’re introducing an entirely new Battlegrounds specific keyword, Avenge, that does something after (x) friendly minions die. Then, we’re replacing 37 minions with new ones and adding two new Heroes! You can get an idea of how the Avenge keyword works by checking out those new minions below.
Before you do, we’ve made a few fundamental changes we want to make you aware of. We’ve added a damage cap of 15 damage until the first player dies, meaning that no player can take more than 15 damage from combat until the first player in a lobby dies or disconnects. We’ve also increased turn timers so that everyone has time to get familiar with the new content: the length of turns 3-9 have been increased by 5 seconds. Everyone will start fresh with this update as ratings will be reset with the 21.2 patch to make way for a new season.
General Updates
- Battlegrounds Specific Keyword added, Avenge: Does something after (x) friendly minions die.
- The length of turns 3-9 have been increased by 5 seconds. We may further adjust the length of turns sometime in the future.
- Darkmoon Prizes have been disabled.
- All players’ Battlegrounds ratings have been reset for a new season.
- Damage cap of 15 damage has been added until the first player dies. Please note that the damage cap does not check for player deaths until the start of each Recruit Phase, meaning if someone concedes, disconnects, or dies during the Recruit Phase (Is Wrath Weaver ever really on your team?), the damage cap will still be present for that combat.
- Players with Battlegrounds Perks are now more likely to be offered new Heroes during the two-week early access period that follows their initial announcement. In every lobby during the two-week early access period, the option to play with new Heroes will be distributed at random between players with Battlegrounds Perks. No player will be offered more than one new Hero.

Anyone know what time the battleground update goes live?
Malganis gave +2/+2, not 1
Anything about season rewards?
Battleground is a good and funny mode, after 100-150 games in a month 1-2 golden cards are appreciated.
Omega Buster's going to be an interesting one... Depending on how it plays, slapping it down as the first attacker with a board full of mechs would possibly (depending on order of operations) give you a 7/7 Microbot and buff your other minions 6/6... And Prized Promo-Drake's interactions with Tarecgosa will help buff dragons pretty well in the middle tiers.
Some of the other cards don't really make a lot of sense to me though. Removing Malganis I take it is because 1/1 to your demons is kind of '"Eh..." at T5 where a straight attack buff is better. And Toxfin getting the boot I'm surmising is simply due to how crappy a minion he is to have from T4 compared to SI:Selfin?
edit: as of writing this new battlegrounds minions haven't been added to Hearthpwn card displays yet (more confusing still is that Kathra'natir was apparently already a card in another mode, I wonder if The Caverns Below would count them as the same card like reprinted tokens)
I was gonna make a comment about the changes to sneeds' pool, and only gaining Tarecgosa and Kathra'natir, but that dont matter because he was one of the legendary minions removed
I wonder if Prestor's Pyrospawn will allow a minion to attack for a second time like with the Blackguard Truesilver Champion combo? if so, will an enemy minion be allowed to attack inbetween? if not, then its pretty much like strapping a better Herald of Flame effect to every dragon on the field
I'm not sure if this has already come up in current battlegrounds, but i'm seeing some possibilities for in-shop minion interaction, like if Master of Realities is in the shop when Nomi, Kitchen Nightmare goes off will it be buffed for each elemental in shop? what about if you've frozen such a shop, and have the new Dazzling Lightspawn on board? how about Whelp Smuggler, will that trigger off buffs like Hat Trick or Stay Frosty (dunno why i specified whelp smuggler here as master of realities should prob work the same)
Why remove 1 health from my mom😭
God the removals are rough..
T1. Tidehunter going away takes away one good economy minion. Vulgar kinda hurts but is now a worse Acolyte of Cthun so its not a huge loss.
T2. The Pack Hunter is the biggest sting rest was trash
T3 . Warden of Old and Hangry Dragon is the painful ones in 3
T4. Hexruin probably needed to go that thing just scaled WAAAY too well, Toxifin is a sad loss but I could understand it. Herald of Flames was fun and wouldn't ever call that broken.
T5. Actually happy Sneeds got the axe scam builds were NOT fun to play again, Mythrax and Faceless though they were fun to play and don't understand why they take them hell Menagire builds are my favorite and Mythrax is just so good.
T6. Fuck you boat glad you're gone scam builds were TERRIBLE
They didn't necessarily do those changes for balancing, they mostly want to keep the game fresh by making changes and they can't just keep on adding new minions without removing some, since it would hurt the consistency of the game (triples, etc)
Tidecaller is the one being removed, not tidehunter (thank Christ)

The mercenary trailer seems has been leaked
That one has been leaked some time ago already
I love how Bob went from the new bartender that makes your deck better during Dalaran Heist to transcending mortal existence in his own game mode.
When I first saw increased turn timer, I was like nooo, but then I saw it was just 5 sec which is fine. Interesting stuff, but we are loosing some good ones tho.
Am I understanding this right? Will SI:Sefin poison effect be completely random? I mean, if it triggers when there is a murloc already with poison and another without, can it waste the effect on the one who already has it?
If the answer is yes, they should just delete Murlocs from the game then. No one will survive to see all their murlocs with poison if thats the case, hope im interpreting this wrong.
SO this ignoring the absurd stat gain they have even before this patch and is now getting even better many murloc wins if you take away poison befor now still had the stats for the win easily. Toxfin did this really cool (sarcasm) thing called easy winning and honestly really boring for both sides
Cowabunga!
When I was looking these over, I actually stopped and thought... "wait, why would a rat summon a turtle?" But I didn't put that together :P
I love the "with Taunt" part. It's just *chef's kiss*.
It mean a lot because after he die next enemy target is the turtle instead of a random minion
Are there any Hero Powers Nguyen can offer that would be useless? And if so, will it be fixed so they aren't offered?
