2 Warlock Changes Coming On Tuesday - "Mana Cost Adjustments"
Alec Dawson (team 5's lead designer) just announced on Twitter that next week on Tuesday we'll see 2 warlock balance changes as well as the time schedule for more balance changes next month.
Quote from Alec DawsonBalance schedule over next month:
8/31: 2 Warlock changes (upping mana, feels focused)
8/31 to 9/10: Evaluating meta
9/10: Decide if changes are needed
Later Sept: Decided changes go live (BGs included)
Alec's comment about Mindrender Illucia
Quote from Alec DawsonIllucia does have a bigger target on her back than before, but we shall see.
Big Battlegrounds update coming soon
Quote from Alec DawsonBalance after the big update. More info on that update quite soon!
Buffs for Warrior and Priest
Quote from Alec DawsonWe will definitely consider buffs for those decisions in September.
I guess we are waiting for their meta evaluation 8/31 - 9/10 and taking a break until hopefully their next balance patch towards end of September....
Its about time...and they better come up with something good. Its ridiculous how long it took them to react, when its so obvious how broken the deck is. As a wild player, i finally want to be able again to play some other deck then just hyper aggro that tries to finish before turn 6 :(
Today i played against a Quest Warlock that finished his quest on turn 4...yeah so far its not special. He additionally had almost a full board and 30hp & 12 armor lol....thats just so fucking stupid.
I invalidated myself by using examples of times where I was displeased with the game as the reason why these nerf threads exist? That was literally the point of the comment. Every call for a nerf comes from the segment of the player base that currently can’t play their style of Hearthstone. Once Warlock Quest gets the nerf, a whole new set of “this needs to be nerfed” will spring up in its place.
It’s the nature of the beast on this forum.
tbh, i'm beating warlock quest conistently, if they dont get the god draws. As any combo deck all depends on it, mage is beatable as well.
The only complaint you can have is that the game has sped up and control is a bit lackluster.
My personal complaint: why they keep buffing brainless face hunter... god please ban the class, its just dumb.
Win or Loss, it isn't fun playing against a class that has little to no interactivity against it. Like, I've tried making decks specifically to counter to Warlock, and it works great... only against warlock. But I'm literally playing against someone that is just playing with themselves, not me.
I guess ur a Incognito Warlock player that complains about Hunter, the only good option vs Warlock rn btw.
"Hey everyone! Play Alignment druids!" It was working very good against APM Warlocks and Hunter Quests. xD
The counter was here all along. I made thread about it with some example pics.
Thank you letting us know what the plans are. I really appreciate that.
Clown meta, clown nefrs..
"Just clownin' around!" Carnival Clown
Wonder if these morons can finally get the right thing nerfed
feels focused nerf? this is odd... i guess they mean Stealer of Souls + RNG = Dead on turn 5
Sooooooo once they make Warlock Quest unplayable.......does this mean we go back to making crying threads about how Hunters are mindless idiots ruining the fun of the game? Or will it be the aggro guys crying how control is now too powerful in the meta? Either way, once you appease one side of the player base, another side takes up the work of wanting some cheese with their whine.
I'll take this meta over any meta that involves power gamers and their billion dollar Control Decks dragging out the game turn, after turn, after turn. Especially since Hearthstone has recently upped the number of tools that allow them to break up combo decks which are their weakness. I still remember the season of Fatigue Warrior and Control Mage. Easily the most boring season of Hearthstone ever.
Personally, I hover around gold to platinum on the ladder, since I only play enough to get quest rewards. And during my run to get the 50 Quest Achievement while playing Odd Quest Hunter, I barely ran into any Warlocks. And when I did, my win rate was pretty decent.
But your dying from spells from mage not fatigue dmg like in warlock
Lmao you just invalidated your own comment in the same breath
I_Feel_Your_Pain probably.
But let's not burn only warlock, HS has many problems in 0 mana cards and endless draws (mage), infinite value, extra turns (in a turn based game????).
When the game is turn based, never allow have extra turns, infinite 0 mana cards etc. it will make the game unplayable.
I already started dusting bad cards and crafting the one I always wanted to play, and when I'm done and nothing fundamentally in HS changes I will have to leave. It is not being fun for me. I can't break opponents turn because no interaction I just how I die. HS is about resources management and back to back plays. It is a turn based game with no interaction on your opponents turn!
Also mutanus costs 7 and you are dead by OTKs by 6 haha should cost 2 like Dirty Rat (this shit card with maybeeee gonna pull opponents OTK piece doesn't work).
I mean, they release cards over and over like Free Admission that people have become numb to them. Like...look at that card. It's a NET POSITIVE mana cheat and draw 2 cards FOR FREE on top of it. It's broken at a fundamental level and it's not even the problem with the Warlock decks.
Cards like this are breaking the game and they just print more of them (Backfire, Refreshing Spring Water, Cram Session).
Free Admission is a bit of a bad example, because it has been played very little until recently. It looks awesome on paper (this kind of design is usually very strong), but most of Warlock demons are simply bad and no one wanted plain: 3 mana draw 2 minions. Honestly, I doubt this card will see play outside of D6 Warlock.
That's the farce. They release so many grossly overpowered cards that people aren't even playing them until a magical critical mass gets achieved.
Felgorger is another great example. This card is NUTS. Three mana stats, two mana cheat, and draws a card (a specific card type too) for 4 mana. Broken. But because "Fel" decks didn't work out, no one's using the card since it doesn't have deathrattle or wasn't crucial to a lifesteal OTK and thus isn't used in the current playable decks. But next expansion, or the one after, suddenly a critical mass of good Fel cards will exist (or a single Fel card that, like Doomhammer, you can exploit this card to draw exclusively to help you win) and the card will become core to a broken deck. And people will say
"Well no one was complaining about that"
"It was played very little until recently."
"It looks awesome on paper"
It's busted. It always was. But it only sees use when its condition can be exploited. Warlock didn't work as a combo deck before so a tempo loss for gross mana cheat and draw wasn't used. Now it does, and the busted cards they carelessly printed come back to haunt them.
