Blizzard Posts Highest Win Rate Decks for United in Stormwind
In another update tonight (after already announcing earlier that Balance changes were not coming until next week) Blizzard announced the highest winrate decks for United in Stormwind.
Quote from Tian DingThese are the best standard decks for United in Stormwind launch week.
Always has been, points gun at head
Where's the playrate of each deck ?
What's the point of saying "this deck nears 50% winrate" only ? It could mean absolutely nothing if the broken deck in question faces itself a lot. Warlock quest (or supporting cards) must absolutely be nerfed, I hope they won't hide behind this chart which only shows part of the reality to not do it.
If they use this chart as an excuse to not nerf the quest decks (which is what it looks like at a glance) then I give up on Team 5 for good. This chart is full of aggro cuz THATS what counters the quest decks and control is non-existent! Quest Mage and Warlock are the meta definers, this chart is just the outcome of their influence.
Nerfing the aggro decks would only treat the symptoms, not the cause of the disease!
WInrate doesn't count for much to me, what matters is gameplay. This just seems like damage control. No one wants to sit there as a mage ignite chains their face or be forced to run a deck where a quarter of their minions are anti-spell tech.
Everyone smart complaining about the quests already said they knew aggro hunter, buff paladin and elemental shaman were too strong, and didn't want any incomnig nerfs just lead to a meta made up of them..they need nerfs too - but oldscool nerfs where you decrease the power level...the bottom line is that the gameplay from the quest is horrible, so either we want you to change how they work, or nerf them so we don't have to tech against them or face them on ladder. Idealy change how they work.
This is why players are upset - we realise the size of the hole Blizzard has dug itself into this time.
I agree with you 100% in that there are many issues across the board that this chart does not exonerate. It feels like the game is spinning out of control and became way too fast paced either with aggro or with the new combo archetypes
Hunter??? Lmao
The posted deck list literally proves that the meta is diverse. Everybody complains about Mage, which isn't the issue (I don't play it, just FYI), it is not even on the list. It just has become the new Priest/Warlock. You only have two quest decks on this list out of 10. Cards should be nerfed for sure, but I am less sure that it should be Mage. Aggro should be hit because that is what is really stifling creativity.
Hmm okay my gripes are only from experience. It feels like aggro is popular only because the priest and warlock questlines are so unfun and annoying to play against as other decks. If those get nerfed, it would allow control decks and such to make a comeback, which in turn keep the aggro decks in check.
I meant mage, not priest lmao
Quest Mage is 100% the issue. Why do you think the chart is all aggro and no one is playing control? Cuz no one wants to lose to the most cancerous solitaire deck standard has seen in years! THINK, MARK!
You could say this meta is... out of Control! 😎
Aggro decks are not the best or most broken. They are just the easiest to play.
Currently? They are everything because no control deck can win vs quests and ultra aggro decks.
No. I have some control decks that farm aggro (60-70% winrate against aggro). The problem is that there are too many combo decks that have 99% winrate vs control.
Interesting how Spell Token Druid performs marginally better going second.
I'm assuming having the coin as an extra spell is enough of a benefit to overcome the deficit of going second.
The decks that have higher win rate going second are those that exploit the free 0 mana spell you get. Token Druid does it by saving the coin to get an extra glowfly, or to get the glowflies one turn early. If unanswered they simply win. Rogue exploits the coin by enabling combo cards they otherwise wouldn't be able to.
I'm sure Miracle Garrote Rogue also has a higher win rate going second, as has any deck using Auctioneer.
So they're justifying that 2 decks are not broken by showing us that agro is more broken? xD
I mean, Face Hunter and Shaman didn't even needed the expansion, they run most of the same list, with maybe 2 new cards.
They should nerf Hunter, Shaman AND Mage (and maybe Warlock too)
that was just stupid reaction.
What this isn't showing is the breakdown of the classes being played. I'm curious what that is.
