Blizzard Posts Highest Win Rate Decks for United in Stormwind
In another update tonight (after already announcing earlier that Balance changes were not coming until next week) Blizzard announced the highest winrate decks for United in Stormwind.
Quote from Tian DingThese are the best standard decks for United in Stormwind launch week.
The mage and warlock questlines stifle deck diversity; control decks can't really stop them and midranged decks/other questlines aren't fast or equipped enough to compete. So you're stuck playing aggro or these questlines.
Hope they're slowed down a bit, either through cost nerfs (incanter's flow, quest rewards, healing cards) or fundamental card changes (auctioneer, stealer of souls, dark glare, quest completion requirements)
Christ, mage and warlock are better at mana cheating than druid these days. So much for class identity
Is this the way, how Blizzard want to explain that Quest Mage or Quest Warlock are not that strong and OP...?
Well, players started making anti Quest Mage decks, and it made quest mage stats worse now.
Insane how much of a difference it makes, to be the player going first
Well, I like the ideia behind most decks, but everything feels way overtuned.
Face Hunter, as usual, can vomit huge things super fast and it is by far the best answer to the ridiculous " win the game by turn 7" combos out there. Elemental Shammy and Paladin Handbuff should be more midrange but are so damn aggressive and overtuned (some early minions are way overstated) that just works like aggro decks too. And yet, if you just nerf these decks, OTK decks will completly dominate the meta. To me, the only OTK deck kinda fair is garrote miracle rogue because its super hard to pilot it and even this deck may need to be adjusted, every other one is auto win by just playing cards. Hope they can make this right and slow things a little bit.
What is Poison Rogue sounds made up
Weapon/Aggro Rogue, with the poison cards from Barrens and Swinetusk Shank
Don't get fussed about it...I bet this stat comes from lowest to highest ranked games...For example I don't face most of these decks in diamond. Usually at lower ranks ppl play aggro decks for faster climbing...and it works. Not seeing Quest Mage among these is kinda strange...it sure isn't bellow 50% WR so this stat is wrong. Cheers, enjoy the game :)
Quest Mage is below 50% at this point. Vicious Syndicate independently report the same thing - the deck just isn't that good. Same with combo quest Warlock.
Wingate is irrelevant as usual. The quest are still toxic
This data should be analyzed from a standpoint as to why agro decks is particularly dominating the meta. Simple reason is non-viability of control archetypes.
Control decks being the bane for agro based decks is non-existent or don't see any plays in standard ladder. This is due to the new quest/combo archetypes which cannot be countered by slower decks. Game is over before control decks can start playing their cards.
So while agro feeds on quest/combo, they are left unchecked. As balance is broken, the meta is skewed to Agro > Quest/Combo.
Hope that Bliz team can figure out a fix to the balance. Quest/Combo which can completely draw and play all their cards by turn 6,7,8 is rather problematic IMO. The value of 8,9,10 mana cards is reduced to dust as adding them to deck list will just reduce win rate. So no point printing or keeping them anymore.
It just looks like Aggro meta, but its actually combo meta. Aggro is the answer to the current meta
Exactly. Like....Quest Mage has a >75% win rate against control decks, even over 80% vs control Warlock and Priest.
Which means that as long as Quest Mage exists regardless of its overall win rate, control is DEAD. Aggro decks might win 55-60% of the time, but you're not seeing >75% win rates in specific matchups.
THAT is the source of this broken meta. Control decks aren't just unfavored - they are annihilated by the combo decks, so no one can play them when several combo decks exist in the meta. Aggro decks have favorable matchups vs combo, so they are played more often. But the aggro decks don't have overwhelming advantages vs combo - so combo continues to be played. Control decks cannot be played to keep aggro in check. So here we are.
Mmmm lol? Rush warrior? I think I've never faced one of them since the expansion is out. Obviously most of them are aggro decks, in order to stop OTK decks... Also look at the big difference between all decks when you play first or second lol-
Does this mean Hunter will get a nerf? I will eat a sock if that happens!
What a news! Blizzard heavily pushing combo non interactive decks sees as as result a lot of players playing aggro to counter them!
If devs want aggro to be less played, bring back the control archetype to counter them.
For me the most interesting point from this data is that the effect of going first is the most important parameter for most decks (8 out of 10 in this sample benefit greatly from going first, with the win-rate going up 5-9%, which on average is greater than the difference between #1 and #10 decks). The remaining 2 decks gain a small ~2% win-rate boost from going second.
Wouldn't have thought that the difference is statistically so strongly favored for the player going first.
What do you mean the "most important parameter"? Yes, going first appears to increase the win percentage of almost all decks but that doesn't mean its the most important factor in determining the deck's win percentage.
The win rate skew is even higher in arena, disgustingly so.
Blizzard has never done a thing about it.
Revert the apotheosis nerf.
