Maybe there's something yet to be revealed that justifies this card. I can't imagine it being any good in any way with what demon hunter currently has, but we could see cards being revealed later that makes us go, "Ah, yes, now that makes sense."
It's almost certainly meant to make Glide more common. Glide triggers both second and third stage by itself. You could theoretically have the quest done on turn 5 if you Sigil Runner + Spectral Sight on 3 and then Glide on 4/5.
EDIT: someone further down reminded me that Soul Frags exist too
Tradeable cards also help. It's definitely not Tier 1 with what we have currently but it's playable, and like you said we've still got almost all of DH's cards to see
What a waste of an insanely cool name for a legendary spell.
Yeah this is basically built around using glide.
It's like a weird variation on the uldum warlock quest (which required plot twist). I think its actually pretty cool.
I think this quest actually helps out Outcast Demon Hunter a lot. Outcast Demon Hunter skews a little too expensive to be an effective tempo deck, but getting discounts on everything helps that a ton.
i think you will be out of card before you can play the reward card
Card for duel mode like shaman quest
what a terrible quest (for now)
i think the quest tier list right now is:
that's my personal opinion don't get mad
Are you ranking them based on the last reward?
Some quest lines middle rewards are better than the last. Demon Hunter here for example.
I honestly think Mage is the worst one because it might be the hardest to build around and actually complete. The middle and last rewards aren't worth the effort either. The easiest and best rewards overall is Paladin's. Warlock's is the most interesting to me.
I mean with Mage you just need to play spells in a certain sequence (which isn't... that hard, Arcane, Fire and Frost spells all serve different purposes, you can Arcane Intellect into a Wildfire and Brain Freeze on the next turn). The middle reward is also... good. Discovering a spell also helps you actually finish the quest.
Like I think it's deceptively easy, and building the deck around completing the quest and taking advantage of the spell power at the same time is actually super simple. And the quest reward also means you don't really need to build for spell damage as much.
Honestly, with the mid-quest rewards I think they all look extremely playable.
you need a win condition in your deck to make the quest reward look good.... while other quest rewards are the actual win conditions
Ok hear me out: tradable cards (enabling outcast cards) + soul fragments + glide. This could work. And if it works, it will be nuts. But you have to build a whole deck around it. Ahhh ffs. I will try and craft it day 1 xD PEOPLES. HERE I GO! I‘M A MADMAN!
I totally forgot about tradeable and soul fragments (literally every card you trade for would be free). Yeah, I think this quest is kind of deceptive in that it's really simple.
Glide + augmented Ellek and you should play brann with the legendary.
God awful. The only potential use would be in a combo deck where you could reliably put the required combo pieces for discount back in the deck before playing Kurtrus.
In wild there's the slim, slim possibility of being able to use it in some fatigue-control style deck (such as using Archivist and a couple effects to replay her), but as far as I'm aware demon hunter still doesn't nearly have a good enough control suite to attempt a high tier competitive control deck in wild. Not to mention if you're spending all your mana drawing cards, you're not spending mana controlling the board, so yeah...
Soul Frags draw cards for free. Soul Frag + Skull (or Glide by itself) completes stage 2 or 3, and stage 1 is Sigil Runner + Spectral Sight. It's not really that bad, just not great with what we have so far.
This quest seems a little underwhelming sure, but I believe it may have a niche use in Deathrattle DH. Both the in between effects and the final reward allow you to cheat out larger deathrattle minions with your Razorboar and Razorfen Beastmaster
How do you draw 4-5 cards in one turn with deathrattle DH ?
I think the idea will be to use cards with Tradeable mechanic to complete the stages in the quest.
So for all that work, your reward is that less than half your deck costs 2 less? Yea... I think players will only want to go for the first and second reward and ignore the last one.
