That is one hell of a quest line.
I am still playing evolve shaman before this. Tiny tots is awesome.
Insane in duels where you can pick the can't be overloaded option.
Eh... we'll see. People are saying this is going to bring back Shamanstone. I see the quest lines of "play 10 specific cards, get a big benefit", and think that's just too hard of a thing to pull off. In this case, overloading makes it even more difficult, because if you play overload cards this turn you likely can't play them next turn. The 3/3 elemental with taunt is an underwhelming second reward too.
In the history of this game, any time you have to do something like play a bunch of cards to get a big payoff, it just hasn't worked in this game before. Aggro beats you to the finish, you don't draw well, etc. Think back to the original quests... rogue worked due to it being aggro itself, but only warrior taunt and priest deathrattle saw any play (as tier 2/3 decks), mainly due to aggro just rolling over quests. Taunt warrior worked best, because it was specifically anti-aggro.
I hope it works, because that means aggro is being held in check in the meta. But I'm always skeptical. Everyone always looks to the big payoff, and usually it's just too hard to get there.
I agree with parts of this, but quest rogue was 100% NOT an aggro deck...
I mean, the real question is "Will playing this overload deck compete against the current doomhammer Shaman deck of today?"
The answer is no. Doomhammer Shaman kills this quest Shaman long before it can get the quest online.
Except for the fact that there's easy weapon removal in the meta once this set goes live that anyone can play without hindering their decks. Besides there are many decks out there that beat that shaman deck now. Doubtful that deck makes it anywhere near the new meta.
Wow Shamans get this busted ass quest and ability and druids get a 8/8 with taunt and a garbage temporary effect...
Uh the druid quest is literally 1 mana GAIN 18 armor. Yeah it's not as exciting as this crazy shaman effect but it's still OBVIOUSLY good. 1 mana. Gain 18.
thing is friend is that the druid quest is a LOT easier to finish in most formats
Tidal Wave might actually be worth playing now lol. This makes up for Corrupting the Waters leaving.
The Innkeeper after this expansion hits: THRALL vs THRALL!
Thrall vs RAGNAROS ;)
Ok with these broken questlines get ready for ANOTHER full fast aggro meta yeeeeeh
Shaman stone is back meeeeeh, goodbye for a year
1 year 8 months
Holy shit yes
It's laughable how much better and easier this questline is compared to Mage's. Especially the final reward, as double cast is so much better than spell damage +3.
Seems kinda slow, but hey, I was wrong about other cards before
