Alliestrasza and Lt. Eddy Cancel Card Reveals over Blizzard Allegations and Law Suit
Content Creators Alliestrasza and Lt. Eddy, who were both scheduled to have card reveals today both decided to not do their reveals on the scheduled time due to news that broke about a law suit against ActivisionBlizzard about sexual harrassment and gender based discrimination.
Here is a link to a story on The Verge which has all the relevant information about that suit, including a statement by ActivisionBlizzard on the topic.
Below you will find the courageous video message by Alliestrasza explaining why she made her decision, as well as Lt. Eddy's tweets on the topic.
FRIDAY EDIT: Trump has announced today that he is also pulling his card reveal. Blizzard also decided to pull more reveals from their own official channels, scheduled in the next few hours. See the video in which Trump explains his reasoning below.
Hey folks, not releasing my card reveal today. https://t.co/YzFRcjwFyk pic.twitter.com/rkXEVuPM4K

Please note: This happens at other companies, if not most. Even your own workplace that you’re unaware of. Please stand up against this behavior if you see it.

Agreed. Could possibly be another Quinton Flynn situation. Then again considering how many of these woke companies always seem to have situations like these....
Just look at Riot games. Same exact situation
The.State.Of.California. This is not a disgruntled ex-employee. This is an accusation after a 2 year state investigation. It is pretty safe to say they are guilty. They can slither out of some of the accusations, since they have a big legal team for sure.
Still, if you truly think this is made up, I am sorry to say it, you are naive.
All I got to say is what happened to innocent until proven guilty if I accuse anyone on here of sexual harassment do you want to be deemed guilty before you have had your day in court? Calm yalls shit down and yes they should've revealed the cards because INNOCENT until proven guilty everyone is just ready to get on the I hate blizzard bandwagon and yall need to step back and wait
These allegations are the product of a 2 year long investigation by a state agency:

This isn't a single accuser who claimed something happened. This is a state who did the investigation first over two years and then went to court. They don't take things things to court unless they know they will win.
If you accuse anyone on here of sexual harassment, you don't have years of evidence proving that they did so.
They are innocent until proven guilty in court in the eyes of the law. That doesn't mean the public has to follow that. If there is evidence of what they did, there is nothing wrong with holding them responsible for it.
This isn't a "he said, she said" thing. This is the fruit of a 2-year investigation. I would think that is plenty of evidence to decide it isn't worth associating with Blizz for 1 day.
There was a 2-year investigation, yes. However, Blizzard has made a statement regarding that investigation, and with fairness in mind, it should be taken into account as well. Once the lawsuit plays out we should have a better idea of what's really going on, but until then, I feel it isn't right to crucify Blizzard. Society at large is becoming much too comfortable casting aside the presumption of innocence.
And understand, I'm not out to defend Blizzard - if the accusations are true, it's reprehensible. But we should all try to remain open-minded about the whole affair.
Have you read that statement? They aren't denying anything they are accused of, but saying how unfair the state was not talking to them openly (in an investigation about them, duh) and that they tried to "better" themselves already.
They try to downtalk and deflect from the accusations of stuff that already happened. Nobody is crucifying Blizz (funnily the outrage over blitzchung was bigger Ôo), but those ppl need to be called out and charged.
For god's sake i just want to play games. Can we have 1 single fucking day without politics/virtue signalling being forced down our throat.
TIL that not wanting women to be harassed/molested is politics and virtue signaling
My guy, it's not in the game. It's on the forum. You would have to literally click this link in this forum to find it. It ain't bein shoved down your throat. This is a hearthstone news site. No shit news regarding hearthstone is going to pop up here. I bet you think safe spaces are dumb too, yet all you want is to avoid being confronted by this shit.
It IS just virtue signalling. These 2 didn't say shit when the blitzchung drama happened but now that blizzard is in deep shit they took their chance to get their 15 minutes of fame.
Activision is destroying blizzard.
1 more of these and the companies reputation will die and go bankrupt.
so lame...but..I WANT THE CARD REVEAL ...omg lol..lame
It's Blizzard destroying Activision in this case
Don’t get me wrong… I read up on the lawsuit, if even HALF of what is alleged is true, it’s horrible.
I definitely stand with the women affected by anything that took place in the company.
My question is… what does not revealing a card on time accomplish?
If this was something like an official Blizzard live-stream event that would promote Blizzard and help them make money, I would totally understand refusing to participate… But not revealing a card on the scheduled time doesn’t hurt Blizzard at all, they don’t care lol. Hell, they could even post the card themselves if they wanted to.
Refusing to reveal the card on time hurts only the community of players who were waiting to see it.
Also, in the case of Alliestrasza, she is revealing the card 1 day later..... to me that just seems like she is pandering to the audience and trying to look like a SJW when the reality is, she's just another streamer who bows to her corporate masters.... same with Eddy and everyone else.
Don't believe me, look at what happened when Blitzchung got banned..... everybody was OUTRAGED!!!!11 ..... until they weren't.
Blizzard never even really apologized and they only reduced his ban from 1 year to 6 months and still everybody eventually forgot and moved on.
Refusing to do the reveal brings attention to the issue and lets them sleep at night.
Their responses were short and tasteful. They're pretty clearly not trying to bring attention to themselves.
You can also look at it as: this whole thing would left a bad taste in their mouths so they chose to just take a step back.
By canceling their card reveals they bring attention to what happened. I only learned about what's going on just now by seeing that no cards had been revealed. They aren't trying to have a childish retaliation by "sticking it to the man" and not revealing their cards, they are trying to bring attention to the horrendous stuff happening right now. This doesn't hurt blizzard, it hurts themselves. You say they got positive attention because of them refusing to reveal but they would get far better attention by revealing the card. Besides what do you care if someone is "clout chasing". Why aren't you commenting about what Blizz/Activision are doing? Why is it the fact these people are "clout chasing" catches your eye? Blizz and Activision are being accused of is some heinous shit. It literally, lead to a woman's death.
Also, a great difference between this and the blitz incident is that legal action is being taken. There will be ramifications for Blizzard.
I never said they were doing it for attention and I never said they got positive attention by doing this... in fact, I never even used the word "Attention"
What I'm accusing them of is PRETENDING to actually care about this issue because they feel they have to address it publicly..... when in reality, they will never do anything that would PERMANENTLY ostracize themselves from Blizz/Activision. Because they rely on that to make money.
P.S. don't try to defend them by saying "it's their job" or "that's how they make money"...... if they really had a problem with Blizzard, they would stop supporting them all together and move on to a different game or different company. Hearthstone isn't even in the top 10 of most viewed games on Twitch.
Or they could get a real job.
P.S.S. If their goal was to simply draw attention to the issue, they could have done a quick PSA before/after revealing the card.... there was no need to not reveal anything.
I think both of them handled it rather tastefully. I'm glad they're aware that it's certain people that are responsible for this bullshit and aren't just saying "Fuck Blizzard and everyone working there". No matter where you go, some people suck and some people don't.
As for those complaining about the card reveals, get outta here with that shit. It's two cards, and you'll just see them later instead of now. It's not like they canceled releasing them.
