Alliestrasza and Lt. Eddy Cancel Card Reveals over Blizzard Allegations and Law Suit
Content Creators Alliestrasza and Lt. Eddy, who were both scheduled to have card reveals today both decided to not do their reveals on the scheduled time due to news that broke about a law suit against ActivisionBlizzard about sexual harrassment and gender based discrimination.
Here is a link to a story on The Verge which has all the relevant information about that suit, including a statement by ActivisionBlizzard on the topic.
Below you will find the courageous video message by Alliestrasza explaining why she made her decision, as well as Lt. Eddy's tweets on the topic.
FRIDAY EDIT: Trump has announced today that he is also pulling his card reveal. Blizzard also decided to pull more reveals from their own official channels, scheduled in the next few hours. See the video in which Trump explains his reasoning below.
Hey folks, not releasing my card reveal today. https://t.co/YzFRcjwFyk pic.twitter.com/rkXEVuPM4K

Please note: This happens at other companies, if not most. Even your own workplace that you’re unaware of. Please stand up against this behavior if you see it.

5 minutes of fame ? I don't care. I just wanted to see some new cards instead of this article.. wanna do something about it ? don't sit in front of pc, go out and make some protest. Let grown children play their game :)
Well, at least they promoted progressive ideals at the expense of product quality :^)
I am really getting sick of ,,Someone allegedly did some horrible stuff so lets just randomly punish them and/or people connected to them without any proof or trials,, situations. Its been happening a lot recently around hs and I couldn't care less to be honest. If someone did something horrible...the legal system should take care of it. I don't even want to hear about it. I play this game for fun , not to dole out justice to ALLEGED horrible people.
This.
This would make sense if they somehow would be cancelling the release of the expansion. It's just a delay in the reveal of 2 cards of a set of 135, how bad can it really be for you? chill, you'll get to see and play with the cards soon enough.
There was a two year investigation into this by the state of california. Maybe do some damn research before you open your mouth and look like a fool.
That's the thing. I DO NOT CARE. Finding out if someone is guilty of some crime or punishing them is something I am neither interested in, nor qualified to do. And it's certainly NOT the reason I play hearthstone or come to this site. There are legal systems in place to do this sort of thing and there is zero reason for a game made for entertainment to be involved in any way.
After reading what happened and still not caring makes one a fairly bad human being.
ActivisionBlizzard have sexual harassed, misconduct and discriminated people.
Here is another News Flash "Bears shit in the woods" and "Water is wet".
Tell us something we don't know, like what are the new cards.
(All respect and power to the victims of this disgusting behavior from ActivisionBlizzard)
But let's be frank, its very old news... they have literally done it for years.
It is time for an internet community to overestimate how much of an impact they will do with their "protest" yet again. Isn't Blizzard suppose to be "dead" or "bankrupt" already ever since the "big internet protest" of Blitzchung?
The company started growing progressive with gender issues as soon as they started being investigated. Coincidence?
Can you please protest somewhere else and reveal my cards? I didn't do anything wrong.
Attention seeking apes. I'm so tired of what is culminating in the US these days.
ooof this topic is WAY 2 touchy
The best part was when Blizzard devs had walk outs and protests over that "tough esports moment" but they certainly didn't care about stuff like this.
So I read up about that and apparently, they did file complaints to HR on those matters...and received punishment, victim blaming and deaththreats. Also, many of the ex-employees stated those things. They were disregarded as "disgruntled ex-employee".
And if you're protesting the higher ups on pure "he said-she said", you will be fired long term and probably won't find a good new job with that "stain".
Sure, but they'll walk out over some card game playing guy getting suspended, but won't over their own health and safety? Or do they just not care about their own co-workers?
"Or do they just not care about their own co-workers?" Probably that.
Jokes aside, I can just assume that the denial-mentality of "It isn't that bad" or "This guy? Nah, you are lying/overreacting" grew rather rampand among the male employees (who weren't part of the inner circle) and, well, the females were probably terrified. I've for example read about threats of worse physical harm, if they spill the beans (e.g. groping->rape). Maybe they were ashamed to let it happen to them.
These tactics and reinforcing those feelings are common among abuse and rape incidents. "No one will believe you, but I will know"-style.
To walk out against China is rather easy in comparison, no real personal fate involved and no direct enemy. Nobody will call you a liar or say you're overreacting about your trauma.
That said
Yes, they clearly did too little. Those elaborate structures neither just happen out of nowhere nor over night.
TLDR: Blizzard spend most of their time making female coworkers recreate The Human Centipede in their offices.
