Alliestrasza and Lt. Eddy Cancel Card Reveals over Blizzard Allegations and Law Suit
Content Creators Alliestrasza and Lt. Eddy, who were both scheduled to have card reveals today both decided to not do their reveals on the scheduled time due to news that broke about a law suit against ActivisionBlizzard about sexual harrassment and gender based discrimination.
Here is a link to a story on The Verge which has all the relevant information about that suit, including a statement by ActivisionBlizzard on the topic.
Below you will find the courageous video message by Alliestrasza explaining why she made her decision, as well as Lt. Eddy's tweets on the topic.
FRIDAY EDIT: Trump has announced today that he is also pulling his card reveal. Blizzard also decided to pull more reveals from their own official channels, scheduled in the next few hours. See the video in which Trump explains his reasoning below.
Hey folks, not releasing my card reveal today. https://t.co/YzFRcjwFyk pic.twitter.com/rkXEVuPM4K

Please note: This happens at other companies, if not most. Even your own workplace that you’re unaware of. Please stand up against this behavior if you see it.

I know you guys so called influencer want to spread this issue out, but this kind of action is like punishing us more than to Blizz
You will see the cards, no one is being punished. Final reveal stream is Monday.
What do they have to gain from doing this? Holding up card reveals isn't helping anyone and it certainly isn't helping that you're making rash decisions before anything concrete has come out about the allegations.
Is raising awareness harming you in some way?
Regardless of what comes of the lawsuit, these influencers will have an advantage when Blizzard-Activision inevitably makes some changes, firing & hiring and such. Influencers have everything to gain by supporting underdogs and appearing virtuous. They have everything to lose if they attempt any meaningful change that is inconvenient for the big company.
No I'm just saying that this effort will ultimately be ineffective and hurt only the people who want to see the cards.
fu%&ing SJWs , you guys are pathetic, NOW you're raising awareness, because NOW everyone care, like with the Holywood '' metoo '' , EVERYONE knew that this bs happened , but NOW you're ''' raising awareness ''' ... pathetic...
Who fucking cares what happens behind the scenes. Just enjoy the game.
Tool.
Way to show your own compassion there, denigrating people with autism. Well played.
From the rage here Its seems to be working , its just a card Lmao
A lot of 'adults' getting incredibly upset over not seeing some pixels on time. Why does it upset you sooooooooo much??? Saying what they're doing is pointless isn't a valid reason to get upset because as you said "It's pointless".
Gamer's society is a freaking garbage. cards reavels > se*ual assaults, yeah
Gamers are the most oppressed group in the West. They are forced to suffer for the alleged office wrongdoings of others, they are silenced and excluded for criticising the protected classes (indie devs, women, professional victims).
Well said fellow game. It is time for us to rise up and not put up with the bullying of these people anymore!
Are you serious? Gamers are not oppressed. Just to give you some context, gay people weren't able to legally marry until half way through the last decade, but gamers (who have never had a right taken from them for being gamers) are more oppressed? Okay. What's crazier is that this is only one example from one group. There many other marginalized groups who have faced discrimination, but somehow gamers are the true victims. You buggin' for this one.
I think its you that is bugging my friend. Gays have been able to get married in spite of law or religion for hundreds of years before gamers ever existed. And as far as these other "marginalised" groups are concerned? They are not marginalised anymore, unlike Gamers.
Its a lawsuit not a conviction. People do not understand what justice means.
You are right, thankfully even if they are convicted they just need to pay up and its back to business as usual.
That's true but many of the reactions to this situation aren't helping.
