Arena card. We won't see it played
dude, wtf is this!?!? This card is nuuuuuuuuuuts. Everyone's like "meh" "it's good because it's shadow" DUDE. People ran Twilight Drake in every control warlock deck for 5 years of hearthstone. This is the same 4 mana card, but it has FIVE more attack. Imagine if blizz printed a 2 mana card with 5 more stats than every other 2 drop. Oh yeah and with Tamsin Roame, you'll get 2 9 9s for 7 mana. I swear, if this doesn't push things to the extreme, then the game's power level has already become too darn high! EZ 5 star card
Oh man I really hope Handlock is coming back with these new cards. I miss having Handlock outside of Classic
I'm not sure this is going to really help bring the Handlock, in its classic variation, back into the game.
It having shadow tag is its only saving grace
Better Twilight Drake / Mountain Giant (unless it gets countered by Mage or Paladin). Might be too slow for the current aggro-heavy meta, though?
Spending your first 2-3 turns tapping and then dropping a minion with no immediate board impact is pretty rough with how aggressive some decks currently are. Especially if it just gets turned into a frog before you can use it. Though I guess you can still often play it as a 7/7 or 8/8 even if you have to spend a turn slowing their aggression instead of tapping. That's probably still good enough.
If they're going to push Handlock in Standard, I wonder if it has enough stabilization tools. I guess we've got Spiced Bread Baker which will often heal for 8~9, plus the Death's Head Cultists and Bloodshard Bristlebacks.
I hope it works. I've really missed playing Handlock.
Can't wait to get hit with a 4 mana 9/9 😑
Better mountain giant? I'll take it.
It's the new mountain giant
Nightshade Matron Hand of Gul'dan
that it is a demon gives it a plus, I like it
Its an even cost card too, that means another threat to deal with for 'even handlock' in wild
Where is taunt?
Bad card, will see 0 play, next.
Bad player, next bad comment. This is pretty much mountain Giant.
Mountain giant would see literally 0 play in any sort of competitive environment in this day and age, the powercreep of the game has all but ensured that. Good luck staying alive for 4 turns against even the worst aggro/midrange deck, and against any control deck it is just a big dumb body that gets easily removed in a 1 for 1 trade because you've done literally nothing to pressure them prior to that point.
But hey, if you want to think the game is perpetually stuck in 2012, then go have fun. Shit card, will see literally 0 competitive play.
Another strong but boring card, where we have seen the effect before, but now it is just more powerful..
This after having used Valdris Felgorge.
We we're always laughing at the 4 mana 7/7, now we get more power creep with a 4 mana 9/9 or 10/10. Not sure about standard but this will likely replace Twilight Drake in Wild for Handlock a 10/10 is better than a 4/10 most of the time.
For years dropping a Giant on 4 has been considered one of the game's most powerful plays, but is it good enough considering the insane powercreep that's gone on since Year of the Dragon? I guess it's still a good thing to do, but is it good enough to spend the first few turns doing nothing?
