So if you play Lothraxion the Redeemed then you'll be summoning two 3/3s with divine shield for your hero power? That's NUTS. Way waay better than Jaraxxus' hero power at that point. Not to mention if you run Pursuit of Justice, you could potentially be summoning two 5/3s with divine shield every turn. That's nutty.
These questlines seem like they are all going to be way waaaaaaay too slow for anything other than a control type deck. You are not going to complete these before turn 8+ without totally tailoring your deck around them. And they aren't strong enough to bother doing that...
glad they nerfed first day twice, otherwise this would be too easy to do
it's about the last reward, be smart
im saying you no longer need to play Baku since you get the same effect as the second reward which doesn't stack. So you suddenly get the ability to play even cost cards like Call To Arms, Sunkeeper Tarim, 2 drops and other dude support cards previously unavailable.
The final reward is obviously amazing, dont get me wrong, but do you want to be doing both Baku AND this? maybe... but also maybe not.
Baku is early Hero power. With the odd package any other dude deck will be irrelevant in wild, it doesn't have the same speed in develop a early board, specially if u will wait untill the second reward to it.
I will try the non Odd version like u said, but I have the feeling that will not be as good.
Kazakus for Cariel, and I think Lothraxion the Redeemed is kind of a Must in Dude Paladin.
would probably add a small Secret package instead of those crappy One drops (like Broomstick, Armor Vendor and Meeting Stone)
edit: Downvoted your post because someone downvoted me, and I don't know if it was you, so perdon if that's not the case. My deckbuildings have consistently got me to High Legendary every month, so I don't take disrespect lightly.
It is play. Not summon. You have to play 9 cards at 1 mana. Your token will not count in the quest. Therefore you need a deck with most of it based only on 1 mana costs card.
Eh, I think Voracious Reader might be a pretty important card in this deck, or else it's going to play more like a midrange token paladin-style deck (which honestly sounds good to me).
But there are secrets and Paladin's one drops actually hold up pretty well through out the game. (Righteous Protector and Knight of Anointment maintain their value through out the game, as do some spells and the new paladin weapon)
It's not like the old Hunter quest where you were desperately playing Fire Flies and whatever else to maybe finish your quest and then play your slow as hell reward. (Where the only even half-way decent 1 drop that maintained It's value was Glacial Shard)
mediocre/garbage. Nothing to do with the priest's one.
I think this quest will probably be the easiest to complete but I see 2 problems with it:
1-the rewards don't help you in any way to complete the next step.
2-the cards that you need to play in order to complete it have no synergy with the final reward.
The other quests we've seen so far don't have these problems. Being the easier to complete will likely be balanced by being one of the weakest ones.
How is it the weakest? Look at the reward for the second step.
The end effect of this quest is that you can have Jaraxxus hero power on turn 5. That's insane, especially if you have Lothraxion to play as well.
I didn't say the weakest, I said one of the weakests.
The power level of the questline should be taken into account how fast it can be completed too. You need 9 mana/1 drop to complete this, and it is possible to fit them into turn 2-3-4 and get Jaraxxus level hero power on turn 5. Whereas Priest and other quests would take up to turn 9 to play their rewards. The hero power for the stage of the game it get completed in is insane.
What you say makes total sense, but you're not considering either how many 1 mana cards you would need to put in your deck or the cards that you would need to draw to be able to play Lightborn Cariel consistantly on turn 5. To do so you would need both copies of First Day of School and only draw 1 mana cards for the first 4 turns.
You can make this more consistent by puttin more 1 mana cards on your deck but the more you put the weaker it will be because they don't support the silver hand archetype you'll end up playing. You could add more cards that support the sylver hand archetype, but the more you add the less likely it will be to finish the quest earlier.
The strenght of this quest won't be in how powerful the rewards is but how easy will be to get it, which is the total opposite of the prist one: the priest will literally win you the game, but it's balanced based on how hard is to pull out.
You can discount Libram to 1 and just replay that once during each stage of the quest with 1 drop minions + first day of school + Pen Flinger, Knight of Anointment + a few good secrets with the Sword + Aldor Attendants and it would be good enough. Leave the rest as support cards, but even without them a turn 5 Jaraxxus hero power is strong enough.
I like your optimism.
The easiest to complete is warlock quest so far. But I'm scared of bounce effects...
that explains the First Day of School nerf, preemptive nerf lol
jokes aside, I hope dude paladin becomes a thing this time
I just realised the wording included "different 1 cost minions" and thank god pen flinger doesnt complete quest on its own
