Balance Changes Coming Next Thursday July 15th
Blizzard is planning some balance changes for next week, specifically to Priest and Druid. We should learn about these changes next Wednesday with some patch notes and should see them go live the next day.

A card that acts as a counter play itself doesn’t need a direct counter play.
How exactly can you play around Inquisitor, except using taunts and healing back each time DH hits your face (which most of the time isn't even enough, unless you are very lucky with RNG-based discovers)?
And why do you need counterplay against random discover card? Without it, there would be no way to beat aggro decks (let me remind you, that controls decks are supposed to do this).

Priest has regularly been a top-tier class at high levels of play - it has been dominating GM this year, and saw plenty of play last year, despite posting low win-rates on sites like HSReplays. It's been the top class at top-1K Legend for months, where it has a 20% play-rate. Nothing wrong with balancing the game for top-level players. FWIW - the win-rate differential for the class between the average ladder-grinder and top-1K Legend is about 7%.
Nerfing priest because low rank people are whining for a class that is never been top tier since Raza Priest. Enjoy playing against Hunter, Shaman and DH 70% of your games in high ranks now.
It is actually the complete opposite where the class completeley dominates top-level play. It has been the deck to beat both in Top1k legend as well as GrandMasters for months now. Most of the competitive players hate priest. Most (actual) low-rank palyers probably don`t even see it as a problem because of low playrate and a significantly lower win rate than at the top level.
I’m Priest only player and I’m playing lots of different decks of different archetypes. It’s very sad the devs want to nerf healing as I complain a lot that Priest does not have enough healing…

What I want? I want to not have the “auto-win” or “auto-lose” outcome. I want to play game. And I see the devs just don’t want Priest to be viable. It’s not his season. It’s time of Hunters, Shamans, DH, Druids. They should shine for now.

These are the only cards Priest can win games. If you nerf them, what Priest will left with? All classes have broken cards, like Illidari Inquisitor, Taintheart Tormenter, Lilypad Lurker, Trampling Rhino, Tickatus, Devolving Missiles, Incanter's Flow → Refreshing Spring Water and of course our broken queen Alexstrasza the Life-Binder. And what Priest have? Discover? “Discover some useless shit”…
Just play around broken cards and you should be fine. Aggro-players want to play green cards and spam board on turn 7 so you can Blademaster Samuro combo them. Samuro is the only real healing in Priest. And it’s not free: you should survive till turn 7 and you should have 2 cards and your opponent should have a board. It’s very unfornunate when your opponent is smart enough and just go face with 5/5, playing nothing, and you just can’t deal with it as you can’t discover Shadow Word: Death and Samuro-combo is not worth it.
I hope we have better times for Priest. As for now it’s a problematic class. If you want to climb, use a better class. It’s really surprising the devs want to nerf Tier 3 class. You really have nothing to do, huh? Or you just don’t like your e-sports? Once, Priest was the worth class in the game and the nerfed Hysteria… Well, they just hate Priest. I hope for better times.
Priest winrate against warlock went from 15% to 1 in 3 thanks to mutanus. Still unfavored but no longer autoloss. Mage is a bit unfavored, but add a bit of healing and you can outdo their limited burst.
Priest is an horrible class that makes the game unfun, it generates tons of random cards, steals cards from your deck, restores the entire health when they want, removes minions as they want and they play VEEEEEEEEEEEEEERY slow, a class that makes each game take like 20 minutes without even playing active(just responds to your moves with removal) while you know its gonna win you with a "created by" card is unhealthy for this game, it doesnt need nerf, it needs to be completely reworked

A lot of valid points, but it doest change the fact, that every single game against Priest feels horrible - no matter what class you play against it.
Its basically a single player game. So no matter what Blizz changes, I hope Priest gets nerfed into oblivion.

Say that samuro is the only real heal for priest is definely not true, almost every of my games against priest they heal 30+ only with created by cards and then Samuro + apotheosis that's more 30+.
Btw, you forgot to mention Token Druid vs Priest when they pop off very early with Gibberling even Priest which is a board clear class cant keep... That's what they meant with non-games but thank god they gonna adress it. I would like to see some more changes but for now this is excellent i think they are hitting the right targets.
This is perfectly correct. I am a Mage only player and play a variety of control Mage decks. The Priest games are fun and can go either way, however, 1 card and 1 card only just makes me not want to play control and indeed Hearthstone and that's Tickatus. That 1 card is the worst card ever printed in this game. Shaman needs a tiny slowing down IMO and something to slow the Celestial Alignment decks down as it can be ridiculous by turn 5 your opponent can pretty much draw and play their whole deck. But a card that basically deletes 10 cards from any deck is an abomination.
All the people whining about wild balance - Blizzard has always claimed that wild will stay as it is and will not be a subject to any balance changes...
Why would you say that about Renew? I am pretty sure that the only hit in Priest would be Palm Reading.

As a long time Wild player, I can say that Secret Mage is not the problem with Mages. There are countless of techs for Secrets and people can outplay them. In fact the problem with Mage in Wild is Sorcerer's Apprentice. You can't react, since in one turn the gain their extra turn and smash you to smithereens casting 20 0 mana spells.
