Arena Balance Update - Hotfix
Blizzard just announced that they are in a process of deploying a small server-side patch (you don't need to download anything) for Arena, which should ensure a more balanced environment for all classes.
Quote from BlizzardHey everyone,
We’re in the process of deploying a small server-side hotfix that will update the appearance rate of cards in Arena to ensure class balance remains close to the ideal 50% win-rate. Specifically, the win-rate of Demon Hunter, Paladin, Shaman, and Warlock should now be decreased. The win-rate of Druid, Hunter, Mage, Priest, and Rogue should now be increased. The win-rate of Warrior should be roughly the same as before.
i openly admit this comment was stupid, bad side effect of drinking and browsing hearthpwn lol
now im gonna go play arena hope you have a lovely day
Weird flex but have a lovely day as well
I miss the time when they increased the amount of spells you could get offered - I remember having lots of fun playing priest arena
“…to ensure class balance remains close to the ideal 50% win-rate” I don’t get it - are they finally admitting they control win rates?
How stupid are you?
Raining down votes xD 50% win rate balance is not controlling win rate. Hearthpwn community show him and make new accs to downvote him.
Ermmm… not sure how you define stupidity…
One who thinks twice and judges from experience or a muppet who consumes everything a multibillion corporation feeds them, thinking that a money making, border line gambling addiction game is truly random because everything that proves that it’s not, is a conspiracy theory
It's about cards offering rates during the draft by class. They are balancing classes like that for years, they said about it many times, that's what Arena players ask them to do more often, and it's not something they "finally admitting". Do you realize it has nothing to do with conspiracy theories about controlling players win rates? It's funny how another conspiracy theory about creating accs by Hearthpwn community just to downvote comments of "truth" appears here at the same time. Of course, it's not because comment being ignorant, but because we are all Blizzard fanboys who never criticized them for things they actually deserved to be criticized.
How about "one who completely misunderstands a super obvious post"? Does that one work for you?
Different cards in arena have different odds of being offered. Just as an example, Legendaries as a whole are offered much less than commons. In other words, the appearance rate of legendaries is lower than that of commons. But Blizzard also has individual appearance rates for all the cards. And when a class is performing much better than another class, they will look at which the best cards in that class are, and make them appear a bit less often, therby reducing the winrate of that class a bit.
It's something they have done for years, and have been upfront about it from the start, it was never a secret. It has nothing to do with "fixing winrates", no more than nerfing cards in standard when a class is too strong does.
Please. You did not think twice yourself. Instead, you consumed exactly what some influencer fed you because it was what you wanted to believe.
If you thought twice, you'd realize Blizzard has nothing to gain (and a lot to lose) by cheating, and everything to gain by adjusting the offering rates of cards to make a more balanced environment in Arena that doesn't heavily favor two or three classes.
On the other hand, think about the streamer or YouTuber who fed you this nonsense. They gain views, likes, and subscribers by telling bad players like you that it's Blizzard's fault you lose so many games, and not your own lack of skill.
ahem, im gonna post this again...
DOES ANYONE EVEN PLAY *GAMEMODE!?!?*
*GAMEMODE* IS THE ONLY PLAYABLE MODE!!!11
I HATE *GAMEMODE* FANBOYS
I'll play Arena again when they re-implement the tier buckets and stop including EVERY standard set in arena rotation
So, effectively that is a never.
Arena uses mmr for the 1st match right? When does that changed?
My 1st game is usually the most difficult one. (before getting to 6/7+ wins in a run, then ofc games are hard)
No, there is no MMR for match 1
So what is the reason for the 1st game when I am 0-0 is harder than the 2nd when I am 1-0???
And I do have a big sample size on that.
If you ask any player with avg arena wins 6/7+ they will confirm you that.
At low scores like 0-0 and 1-0 you are almost guaranteed to face someone with the same score as you, and their deck can be anything. Randomness is random.
must admit that the first game feels like it's the one I'm most likely to lose. I also think that there is a bias, since the second and third game would be set up against another 1-loss deck (or just low mmr now?). I also feel that I get the best win streaks at 2 losses, which would make sense from the match making. I'm neither saying that you're wrong or right (you actually just asked anyway) but I think we both have a bias here.
If the 1st game is completely random, we're against a deck that could both be drafted better, played by a better player, who could also just be lucky + we haven't tried our own deck a single time or know our opponents deck at all... Should feel harder IMO
No they won't, because it isn't true.
