In-Game Indication of Nozdormu Day Coming?
Celestalon just tweeted something with regards to Nozdormu Day, Blizzard's attempted celebration on the 15th of every month to get people to put Nozdormu the Eternal in their decks on that day and getting them to play with a 15 second turn timer. The format saw very positive feedback when it was used in the Forged in the Barrens event on April 21st, where the rounds with Nozdormu were called "Barrens Blitz" rounds.
The proposed holiday has met with some starting up trouble however, as even people trying to partcipate are finding it hard to find other people to play with, even in Casual mode. Celestalon took note of this and tweeted the following:
Don't worry, we've definitely heard the feedback that Nozdormu day needs to be in-client to be truly successful. Stay tuned. :)

What could it mean? The possibilities range from just a visual indicator, to a special once-a-month Quest, to it being part of a bigger overhaul of some kind. This last one could be something like the introduction of mini-Holidays in game, where there would be occasional 1-day events, just for fun, without any real rewards. World of Warcraft has a similar system, and it has added some nice flavor to the game there.
Let us know in the comments what you think!
Yep, that's right: this "event" is the height of pathos by Blizzard, in fact, it may well appear to be a private "event" created by the fanbase rather than by the game's developers themselves...
What would have to be done to make it a proper event? Instead of a simple tweet or even an in-game notification, there should be a special quest the 15th of every month (there is supposed to be a fourth slot for special quests by the way) that rewards you with extra XP if you play 5 games with Nozdormu in your deck that day.
The whole point of Nozdormu the Eternal is that you don't have to play turbo Hearthstone if you don't want to. So you would have to be able to re-roll such a quest. So most people would re-roll the quest, which puts us back to exactly where we are now.
If, for some reason, they did not allow a re-roll into a quest of equal value, the outcry would be far, FAR greater than the feedback that led to this "event" in the first place. A lot of people may like an idea, but that doesn't mean there aren't a lot more who dislike it. So far, there just hasn't been any reason to speak out against Nozdormu day because it's so easy to opt out.
Well, imo Noz's effect should just have been an option in the game's preferences.
At least credit hs mathematics for that idea.
Never heard of it. I hope that, like me, you sometimes produce ideas all by yourself without getting them all from the Internet.
I've been playing since 2015 but never understood how the nozdormu effect works.. I know the wording on the card but it's always confusing and I always end up losing the game.. How does it work?
I should extend my turn, right.. so the opposition have less time to play since there is a limited amount of time..But I've seen some players who end their turn asap.. I don't get it..
The only change Nozdormu makes is that every turn, by both opponents, starts with the rope already burning for end of turn. That's it.
Both players have the same turn time, but it's just shortened.
What is confusing about “players have 15 seconds for their turn”?
You and your opponent don’t have the usual time to think and play, but only 15 seconds instead.
What can happen, is that if you play many cards with animations that take longer to resolve (card draw, summoning, other trigger effects), your turn is over and the animations still play out. That eats into the time pool of the other player and when they get to play, their 15 seconds are almost or completely over causing them to skip their turn.
This lead to issues in the past where players would intentionally play Noz and repeatedly bounce Pandas to deny other player their turn.
Blizzard tries to add a fun idea and you ask them to make fixes to their game so that their idea is actually viable? How dare you point out that it is largely their own fault that the idea will never get off the ground unless they stop preventing it with their shoddy code!
