In-Game Indication of Nozdormu Day Coming?
Celestalon just tweeted something with regards to Nozdormu Day, Blizzard's attempted celebration on the 15th of every month to get people to put Nozdormu the Eternal in their decks on that day and getting them to play with a 15 second turn timer. The format saw very positive feedback when it was used in the Forged in the Barrens event on April 21st, where the rounds with Nozdormu were called "Barrens Blitz" rounds.
The proposed holiday has met with some starting up trouble however, as even people trying to partcipate are finding it hard to find other people to play with, even in Casual mode. Celestalon took note of this and tweeted the following:
Don't worry, we've definitely heard the feedback that Nozdormu day needs to be in-client to be truly successful. Stay tuned. :)

What could it mean? The possibilities range from just a visual indicator, to a special once-a-month Quest, to it being part of a bigger overhaul of some kind. This last one could be something like the introduction of mini-Holidays in game, where there would be occasional 1-day events, just for fun, without any real rewards. World of Warcraft has a similar system, and it has added some nice flavor to the game there.
Let us know in the comments what you think!
Give players a "free", buffed (or otherwise altered) Diamond-version of Nozdormu that is only usable and only appears in collections on Nozdormu day, that is uncraftable and uncollectible.
Or provide a special quest that awards a nice amount of gold or some other neat reward, but either way Nozdormu should be not just viable, but "good" on Noz day at the very least in order for people to really care about adding it to their deck.
Why would I play a card that could potentially give me a turn timer handicap if there is no real benefit other than the "fun" of a faster game? Potentially: because it's assuming the other player is running Noz also, which again, why would they?
A 7-mana 8/8 seems to be fair value for the stats, but I would rather be doing other things on turn 7. What if they made it so that if your turn was less than X seconds long, and Noz is in your hand, it is automatically summoned at the end of your turn, or if your opponent ropes, it is auto-summoned at the end of their turn from your hand/deck.
I’m a jerk, I’d make it to where you get a Noz quest on the 15th each month that can’t be rerolled and transforms one card in any deck you play into Noz. You’ll auto get a copy in duels and arena, and battlegrounds will start each player with a 1 star Noz that sets all rounds to 15 seconds. Even playing the innkeeper. If you don’t want Noz in your deck that bad, you ain’t playing on the 15th then.
This should literally be a call for banning ropers! Who gives a shit about Nozdormu day?
You could also invent a game mode where you are allowed the timelimit which is right now, where people who eat or work play hearthstone.
The effort is not to make people use Nozdormu as much as it is to get people to play Speed Hearthstone. Would be better served as a mode frankly.
So much effort just to try to make people use one card. Seems odd to me.
My thoughts..."oh was it just Nozdormu day? I guess I missed it again". Yawn
Leave it to Blizzard to peddle a broken, abusable card before there's even a hint of trying to fix it. Nozdormu will never, ever, find a spot in my deck until animations are fixed.
They’re talking about the reworked Nozdormu that’s a start of game effect
It took them over a month to figure this out AND do nothing? Good lord.
How about you make the card usable so people will USE it?
Remove nozdurmu, add blitz mode
If you don't want to play "turbo Hearthstone", nobody forces you: you wouldn't have to compulsory do that special quest I have proposed if you don't want to.
Obviously, as a special quest, there would be no room for any re-roll: when the 15th of each month ends, that quest will simply disappear... so where is the problem?
I think they should just make the card not shit so people will want to use it
Yep, the basic problem is precisely that: that the card is useless by itself.
For that matter, I would have preferred it to go something like this: "Battlecry: For the rest of the game, turns are only 15 seconds long."
That's very similar to how it used to be -- Nozdormu
That is, a usable card (as opposed to a useless stupidity like Nozdormu the Eternal)
I think they should change the matchmaking so that they'll match you (if possible) with other persons playing Nozdormu. It's just a big downside otherwise.
Why not an extra card slot for Nozdormu only? With overall 31 Cards.
And the precise number of shits being given: 0
I like the idea of Nozdormu day: the idea that the Hearthstone community once a month agrees to play in a different style than usual. I remembered to play a Nozdormu deck month last month, but I didn't match with a single Nozdormu opponent. This month, I completely forgot it. I suspect the vast majority of Hearthstone players don't even know that Blizzard is trying to make it a thing, since not everyone follows Hearthstone on social media. I really think a simple in-game prompt to try out a Nozdormu deck on the 15th every month would be enough to make more players want to try it out, just for that day - most people enjoy fun, y'know? But of course, a dedicated quest would be great as well. If you don't want to participate - just don't.
On Noz-Day, everyone running him should be queued into other Noz-players.
This. They need to solve this issue before Nozdormu mode can really take off. Even when they do, certain strategies will not be possible and lots of combo decks will not be viable. On the flip side, this would a be great mode to climb the ladder in - play fast, aggro decks without waiting except not getting easy wins against Priests as they would not come anywhere near such a mode.
