Book of Mercenaries: Xyrella - Priest
Not only is it Patch day with the introduction of the Wailing Caverns Mini set, it's also a new chapter in the Book of Mercenaries, with Xyrella, the Priest going live today!
Quote from BlizzardBook of Mercenaries Xyrella – Live with 20.4 Patch
The Draenei called it The Night of Falling Stars, when shards of fractured Light rained across Azeroth. Guided by a mysterious voice, the priest Xyrella now searches the Barrens for the glowing shards which the voice promises can save her daughter's life. The priest's quest will be explored in Book of Mercenaries Xyrella, launching June 3rd. Defeating all 8 bosses in this linear adventure will reward 1 Priest pack, containing only Priest cards from Standard!

Really enjoyed this miniset. Story line and characters from other books were boring because it was recycling the same plot about an overly compassionate, immature and rebellious protagonist defying authority. Xyrella had different persona where she was more mature, patient and humble.
I'm confused on making Book of Mercs instead of focusing on putting out...Mercenaries.
These character's aren't that great.
Yeah, fuck the Monke King encounter. Xyrella was such a big upgrade from Anduin on every single aspect.
In fact, from the perspective from somebody who already played WoW and knew these characters backstories, I like Book of Mercenaries far more (probably because I don't know the end of those stories, the characters are more fresh and I can get over the dumb stuff easier).
This adventure is nuts, second boss can kill your Bearshark with her hero power.
Btw, loved the way Garona kept slaughtering Scabbs while he kept praising her assassin skills.
I guess I got lucky and beat them all first try. However the boss I almost lost to was the sludge one, not even the the last two which everyone seems to hate. Sludge boss took me down to exactly 1HP with a Bloodlust on turn 5 and I spent the next 5 turns desperately clinging on with single digit hp at the end of every turn until I drew a Conviction on Turn 10 which cleared his board with +1 spellpower.
Holy shit if Garona isn't the most annoying boss fight ever, 0 interaction, just buff weapon and go face.
This was pretty fun! I like dormant mercenaries function and the dialogue. At times the AI was pretty silly, but if I had to choose between an easy pack with a good story and some BoH like Priest with a multi-stage fight for a pack I would choose this.
The Book of Mercenaries are fun, not so hard and the story is interesting, not so complex but the characters personalities are amazing. Probably all the histories from the book at the end, link with each other, making this an original tale that is good.
Worst was Octobot, but it only took me 2 tries. Probably wouldn't have been so frustrating if I didn't have PTSD by now from spell-only decks.
HAAAAHAHAAA yeah that happened to me too

not even for the packs.
Honestly, better than most BOH
It tells a good story, a bit of banta, interesting bosses and sets up a cliff hanger at the end
Boss fights: It is not too hard, Some interesting bosses, but overall nothing crazy
Only real downside is you have to have premade decks.
I love this one. This adventure is way better then BoH in my book. Mainly because RNG can be a funny factor, like the final boss Discovering a Shadowform haha
Didn't find it nearly as hard as Octobot, because she wastes so much attack on your minions when she swings like a 9 attack weapon into a 2/4.
The Octobot was absolutely dreadful though. I needed like 4 or 5 attempts and finally a highroll with Crimson Clergy and a bunch of AOE.
Garona got like 13 attack weapon by the end and she had every buff in her hand, literally had 10 attack on like 9 mana and she was going face like some KB rogue before the nerfs, On Octobot I got really lucky and got seance off a renew, used it on tavish and was clearing his tentacles every turn. But I passed them all on 1st try thankfully, wasted like 40 mins for a rare though.
Well I finished the whole adventure in the single attempt. Lucky or it is not that hard.
If you managed to survive first fight with last enemy you are a God. Why? Because it is F**King Bullshit
Idk, I got close to death a few times, but i didn’t find it anywhere as absurdly hard as some of the recent books of heroes that I didn’t even complete.
When TF does mobile update
anyone able to beat the octobot yet? stuck on that rn
