Wailing Caverns Mini Set - New Cards
Blizzard released the first of the new cards for Wailing Caverns. These are it for now, there will be more after the long weekend in the US! (It is Memorial Day on Monday for them, which means we can likely expect more cards no earlier than Tuesday.)

there is 2 or 3 Freeze spells in mage, and people only play Brain Freeze
Mutanus is a neutral combo breaker. We need things like this more often
7 mana too expansive.
Stealing a card from your opponent and using its stats against them is nothing to scoff at.
Praying for some secret or elemental synergy for mage and get some pile of @&*! Dungeoneer that fits into no decks.
Sometimes cards fit into decks that didn't work in the previous meta, and suddenly they work. That's how the meta evolves.
If we always used minor variations of the same archetypes, the game would feel extremely stale all the time.
Nothing like a bronze level card analysis for knowing if a card is good or not lol.
Cant wait to play Mutanus against dumb warlocks who throw all the expendable minions on board and end up with their Y'shaarj in my boy's belly
Problem: you wont hit Jaraxxus
Well, can't say I'm impressed with this initial reveal. There is nothing here (yet) that will shake up the meta. At least in standard.
I'm not sold on the dungeoneers. They aren't terrible but they're a bit slow and unless you cater your deck specifically to always draw the right type of spell, they're, they're unreliable with it's upside. That being said, card draw has always been useful, so card draw with a potential upside might make the cut.
Mutanus on the other hand I just don't see getting play. The meta is far too fast, the card too slow and the effect too unreliable. In a slower meta, this card could be amazing but that's not the case in today's meta. On top of that, it muddies up an already shit 7 drop pool with another crap minion, while the 5 drop pool keeps getting stronger for cards like Jandice and alexis blast. If this was a 5 mana 2/2 or 3/3, it'd be about perfect.
If you aren't impressed by a 3 mana 2/3 that draws two cards, you will never be impressed by anything.
So, you think these cards actually will shake up the meta in standard? Care to elaborate as to how? I mean, I could be wrong and I hope I am but from what I can see, these cards won't change a damn thing.
None of these cards help counter the current tier 1 decks. They might help some decks compete against them but we'll need to see more cards before we can determine that. Until then, I'll say again, I'm not impressed.
Yeah, I couldn't think of a way either. lol
Dirty Rat 2.0!
People complaining about Mutanus like he is the second-coming of Tickatus, he is literally a direct counter to him and Control Warlock in general. Most minions in that deck are either important legendries or chaff that will be played immediately anyway. Just wait until the warlock plays a seven cost card and slam Mutanus down, 'Extraordinary' followed by concede guaranteed.
Edit: This is also from a Ticklock main as well.
I'm kinda dissapointed with Mutanus, but hey, at least it's an interesting removal that can break combos like OTK DH or maybe Miracle Rogue by eating Alex or Tenwu
Mutanus is a farewell to Cthun druid,( if it becomes a thing)

The problem with this shaman Dungeoneer is that it costs 3
If you play shaman you know the 3 mana slot is already VERY crowded and now there's another card you have to fit
It will probably see play because shaman has no other option but the fact you will have to cut other good 3 drop for this will make it way less powerful than people think
"Eat a minion in your opponent's hand."
*laughs in Spell Mage*
