Book Of Heroes: Frostwolf Thrall Is Live Now!
Today sees the release of the next chapter in the Book of Heroes, with Thrall, the Shaman Hero! Completion of the chapter will give you a Shaman pack as a reward, with Shaman-only Standard cards.
There's also a new bundle in the store with a special Shaman hero portrait - Frostwolf Thrall, and 5 special Shaman-only packs.
This one was a bit too easy, but at least there was no obvious fixed draws and the story was nice
What is shaman?
It took me 6 tries as well.
From 1 mana Alexstraza to 2 mana 2/2s - ridiculous.
For me, this one highlighted just how weak Shaman is as a class at the moment. Half the games used other class cards or OP cards you would never see in standard and it was still like pulling teeth.
Lack of card draw, forcing elementals with no consistent synergy or powerful payoff and a debilitating mechanic in overload.
I really hope the mini set has some good shaman cards or it'll stay in the dumpster which is a real shame.
I felt that way too. This Book of Heroes: Thrall just really showed how weak Shaman is right now. I probably wouldn't have struggled like I did if Shaman was at least a playable class. Overload is the worst class mechanic and needs to be reworked.

What is difference between Mercenaries and Heroes?
They are the same, but Mercenaries are nonames
You are talking about Book of Mercenaries, I am about the actual Mercenaries mode. The later one is an rogue-lite rpg where you can level up Mercenaries while also equiping them with Items. The Combat system seems to be the most unique part about it, though not much is known about it right now.

I just don't get how I'm supposed to beat Jaina. From constantly freezing my minions to filling the board with Water Elementals that freeze my minions, I just keep losing. What am I even supposed to do?
play minions with three or more health one at a time in the early game, this will always cause Jaina to trigger her hero power which deals two damage and costs three mana. Its a horrible loss of tempo for the AI and you can play any of a number of thrall's board wipes if things get too out of hand. Finally use the ten cost spell to summon three 5/6 elementals and give them windfury with HP for lethal
After maybe 6 losses to just Jaina, I finally beat her. In my opinion, she was the most difficult one to beat. But I finally beat her. I kinda just got lucky.
Great tip here. Playing one minion a turn and she spammed hero power all game until at end I could snowball and kill her. Did it on first try after reading your tip!
Glad I could help. Its not explained well enough by Blizzard but hero powers in PvE modes which have a golden ring around them must be activated if possible. This is actually a huge flaw when fighting Jaina because that information is very important.

I am playing it once to get the cosmetics and after that, I am just happy that I will not have to play this crap again. Zero replayability - why no Dungeon Run?
It's just a small Story mode. There is no need for it to be replayble. Besides that they are still working on Mercenaries as the HUGE and replayable pve mode.
Thankfully this ones considerably easier than the past couple. A couple of annoying ones that require patience but not all that difficult. Only lost to Deathwing
i'll save the pack for mini-expansion, and hopes that shaman gets better until there
