then don't buy it
I'm not usually vocal about the cost of packs in Hearthstone, however I think the prices for these two bundles are just absurd.
At this point, I think Blizzard are just testing what they can get away with.
In Australia, the price of two golden legendaries and 10 golden card packs is almost $70. Last week I purchased a brand new game that I was highly anticipating (Subnautica Below Zero) from the PlayStation Store for under $50. That game has been in development for approximately 3 years.
That's another really good point against the price of packs in this game.
I bought Resident Evil Village last weekend - bundled with RE7 and all of its DLC - for $80.
The price of a super preorder.
These bundles are no more expensive per dust value than anything else we've seen in the Hearthstone shop.
It's sad that it took something like this for people to realize Hearthstone has been expensive all along. This isn't sudden greed. It's Blizzard offering exactly the same value they have always offered.
I'm a sucker for Golden stuff, my favorite classes are laden with Golden versions of my favorite cards for them.
But this is just a little silly, even for me.
They're asking for a lot. 50 dollars is the cost of a pre-order. This is 1/5th of the packs, you aren't even guaranteed anything you want.
Frankly, all card games should do away with the pack system. MTG got away with it because at least the pack format had a purpose from the start (Draft format where you use the random cards in a pack to make a deck and play it) - but it is factually gambling marketed towards kids and young adults. It's predatory. LoR is a step ahead of the game with a way better model for collection. Money can be used to optionally and efficiently (because you pick the cards you want) expand your collection, but it's 90% cosmetics.
Rewards track was a step in the right direction. But if we don't start making leaps in that direction, Hearthstone is going to become prohibitively expensive, and the average person won't be able to play anymore.
I agree that they should do away with the pack system, but it's weird that you think this offer is silly when it's the same price you've been paying for cards all along. These just happen to be golden, but the value (or lack of value) is the same as it has always been.
This isn't a sign of Hearthstone becoming more expensive. It's just that they've finally tipped their hand and shown the price in a way that people with bad number sense can understand.
Hey, it's no secret I've got bad number sense haha.
Coming soon $19.99 choose a golden legendary card.
Normally, it's about twenty bucks for a random non-golden legendary, so your offer would actually be a steal.
yay, another opportunity to spend 75 $ on 20 % of the expansion content. After buying it of course don't forget to complain about Cyberpunk for not being perfect for 60 $ after 4 years of work
The development of Cyberpunk was a lot more problematic than just "not being perfect" at release.
I just do not get it. Why should I buy this? There is no Ben Brode in it.
There is if you disenchant a golden legendary and craft Tavish Stormpike with the dust.
I might have this myself.
I've spent around 150€ on cards this expansion, just to play less than 30 games or so.
yep, these people no hate literaly have mental issues and need mental care, and companies need to be held legaly accountable for these things, its gambling for kids, how is this legal?
You could make a very strong argument that this is why Blizzard made millions from Hearthstone: they took the lootbox model, from MTG, and applied it to a digital game, and targeted children.
On top of that, unlike IRL card games, your "collection" has no real value, so they totally eliminated the resale market.
It was genius and diabolical.
If you cut out the legendaries, you pay 50 Euros for 50 random Cards. I think that's a new record:D
The most expensive digital cards I knew up till now are in Duel Links, in which you kinda pay ~ 1 Euro per pack that contains 3 cards which is already expensive enough. Also it's bad because in 10 packs you aren't even garantueed to open a Legendary. It's sad that the community just endures it and many people still will buy it:(
First, let's agree that golden cards are for suckers. If you want to talk about value, you're going to dust everything in the bundle to make normal cards.
The dust from 10 random packs of golden cards is enough to craft two legendaries.
It costs 1600 x 2 = 3200 dust to craft two non-golden legendaries. So this bundle is actually offering four non-golden legendaries of your choice for 50 euros.
At normal prices, you pay about 20 euros for a single random legendary.
This offer is not more expensive than other Hearthstone offers. It's just a wake-up call for people who never thought about the price of packs before.
You know why this f***** bastards are adding so much stuff to the store lately?
because of The Completionist Syndrome
theres TONS of whales and addicts who cant STOP buying this TIME ONLY EVENTS.
Even if they dont need it..they still buy it BECAUSE IS THERE...they have to GET ALL THE ACHIEVMENTS....all the goals..EVERYTHING.----
they are idiots that cant control their wallets.
Theres no other explanation. these things are not needed. they are using ur addictions against u. what a pitiful and greedy azz company has become only my merging with thos activions f****ers
Either you have empathy and you consider whales as addicts, or you don’t and you call them idiots. Can’t be both.
