Balance Changes Coming Next Week - 5 Nerfs, 10 Buffs!
Alec Dawson, who is a lead designer on the final design team, has shared some information about the upcoming balance changes coming next week.
What do you personally expect to get changed? Tell us in the comment section.
Had some great balance talks over the last few days. 5 nerfs, 10 buffs in next week’s patch. Looking to bring up some underperforming classes/archetypes, there’s some spicy stuff.

Alec also had an interview with the Chinese community where he pointed out, that 2 neutral cards will be nerfed (one of them being a Murloc - guess who could that be) as well as the fact that Barrens Blacksmith, which will be removed from Battlegrounds.
According to a community interview with @GW_Alec, 2 Neutral cards will be nerfed, including a murloc. And Barrens Blacksmith in bgs will be removed. https://t.co/5BRnjSNdHk

Thanks ZelKnow for bringing this to our attention.
We all know that 1 of the neutral nerfs is Crabrider, no doubt about that, the card is simply too good. I'm only hoping that the other one is not Alex. It's good that there is a neutral finisher, the card is also very versatile as it can be aimed to minions and your face. It would also be the last nail in the coffin for Rogue. The class is struggling a bit after the Pen Flinger and Jandice nerfs (which were needed for sure) but then also killing their burst potential would just take the class out of dicussion.
It would actually be a good thing to have Rogue stuck in a coffin for a while. It's the one class that has ALMOST always been on top with other classes. No other class can say that.
No
I'd nerf Crabrider (winfury only for a turn), Tickatus (burn 4 cards), Conviction (+2 attack) and Refreshing Springwater (5 mana or refresh 1 mana crystal), I'd rework the very highroll-y cards (Incanter's Flow and Mankrik) since that's just bad card design. On a second moment, maybe Il'Gynoth, Illidari Inquisitor, Octobot or Clown. As for buffs I'm gonna guess all 5 caravans, Death Speaker Blackthorn, Living Seed, Earth Revenant, Rancor and some Year of the Phoenix card from an unused archetype (Control DH? Deathrattle Hunter? Big Warrior/Paladin/DH?).
Incanter's flow to 3 mana
Apex Blast can no longer go face
Refreshing Springwater to 1 mana per spell drawn
Piercing shot to enemy minions only
Crabrider to 1/3
Conviction to either 2 attack to minions or 2 mana
I think all caravans will be made 1 mana more but turned to end of turn.
"Other info: the interviewer asked about Refreshing Spring Water: NO nerfs expected"
I am glad the balance team is reasonable and does not give to unreasonable mass hysteria about card that is strong, but not overpowered.
Good. It's a strong card draw, which is fine. I felt like Bomb warrior dumping bombs and punishing card draw was OP, but they never touched it.
Source? I find it really hard to believe RSW is dodging a nerf again.
Oops
I was expecting a lo of unreasonable nerfs to be suggested, but these nerfs that you are suggesting are actually very solid,
Why won't just play the game and get better instead so much nerfs?
We all have to agree there's power creep. I'm even nerfing my own race. Look at the top level of gameplay and you'll see that certain key cards have way too strong swing turns. When played right, DH, poison rogue, priest, hell even shaman work great. If we leave warrior alone, i can bet you that rush warrior will be the next problem. I'm not complaining, I'm anticipating problems. Think ahead ;)
Buff caravans to 1/4 please
Barrens Blacksmith goes from really freaking op to really freaking useless really fast in bg its a dumb minion that wastes a spot
I think Secret passage and crabrider should be nerfed.
Yeah remove Blacksmith now that there's more Frenzy synergy in Bg
I think the reason behind is Frenzy will get a buff in Standard.
So, no reason
sorcerer finally getting buffed
10 buffs? Pog Most of them for shaman??? Pogggggg
