Forged in the Barrens Decks - Wild Edition
Forged in the Barrens has seen more upheavel in the Wild Meta than there has been in quite some time. That doesn't take away the fact the mode is still populated by endless Mage decks, but at least there's a new flavor Mage to mix it up a little and some new faces in the meta to spice things up too. Oh yeah, and there's Priests, because there must always be Priests. Wouldn't be Wild without them.
Most of these decks have great guides included, be sure to open them up and upvote to show appreciation!

Classic is played fairly heavily but the meta is much more fast paced for most part than standard you basically have.
OTK Decks that go off by turn 6-7 with limited resources.
Aggro which is super aggressive burns out fairly quickly for most part and generally wins by turn 4-6 or it loses in most cases.
Long game control OTK which is mostly not as efficient as the faster OTK decks and will usually lose that mirror but is very consistant and isnt going to run out of I kill you effects on 1 attempt to do so.
Midrange aggro - Galakrond Rush warrior and a few other decks fall in here. They are a little slower than the hyper aggro decks but can still win the control match if they dont go off right away and out right kill the deck before turn 6. Secret Mage also falls in here. They generally beat the snot out of the aggro decks.
Control - This is pretty much highlander, Warlock, and various versions of shudderwok/Kingsbane/Poison Rogue. Struggles more against aggro to get a foot hold depending on the aggro match up.
Like 30% of the wild meta is some sort of mage deck however more common than any other match up your going to get highlander mage, flamewalker mage and secret mage secret mage less so at lower tiers. Flamewalker mage is by far the most common match in the format. Higher tiers you'll see more pirate warrior, taxes paladin, secret mage start to show up the only deck consistant really for youll play 4-5 matches at least every 5 ranks is pretty much Flamewalker mage its by far the most common deck in wild accross all ranks.
Is anyone still playing classic?
Only meta decks this time, could've even cut Rogue like you did with Hunter, since the class is obsolete at the moment. But I do think you should've included Druid, I'm facing many Aggro/Token decks.
People on ladder want to win and climb, of course they're not gonna play their janky homebrew decks only to get beaten by actually strong decks in 8 out of 10 games. People sometimes seem to have this romantic notion of Wild as a place of endless possibilites and slower games with fun (meaning bad or inconsistent) homebrew meme decks, but no, it has always had a meta and always will just like standard where there's a couple of decks that are fast and strong and all the rest that aren't. If you wanna meme there's casual for that, or even better, just have play sessions with likeminded friends.
You are wrong bro, even Casual is filled with Reno Priest and meta decks. There is no way to stop them from playing meta decks in Casual unless there are some strict rules.
wait this decks are actually meta wdf, this is new jjaajaj
Worst meta ever, Mage who kills you on turn 6 with flamewaker and draws whole deck. Pala who kills you on turn 6-7 with full board of broken sticky minions under counter spell for just 1 mana, broken murlocs who kills you on turn 4-5 under 0 mana +2+2. It is totally unplayble if you want play something is not crazy aggro. Even Reno can t save you coz of mages with flamewaker doesn t allow you to live, Last time i played vs this he killed me on turn 6 from 42 to zero - minions hp on board plus 30 hp.
I think Druid can possible be good, but i don t have druid cards and too much dust for trying. Still, if only 1 deck can possible be playble vs all of this - it is not ok.
i mean low cost token druid deck is only 2400 or so. And thats because of the Patches. Also he kills on 3-4-5.
i meant jade druid with million armor actually
All you have to do is play Mindrender Illucia on turn 5. Guaranteed win all the time.
Honestly I have never had some big problems with taxes paladins. From all of the decks that abuse free cards, endless discovers and ressurects and turn 5 OTK this decks seems the most fair lol.
So disappointed at this deck showcase. What about OTK Uther Paladin, Quest Benedictus Priest? :v
"Taxes paladin", also know as no "fun allowed paladin"
Just play Murloc Shaman and they're hopeless
People need to play more with cards they like and are fun. Creating own frankenstein decks is fun and when you master it, the feeling is great. But it is boring to face always the same broken 0 mana 10 per turn cards and insane synergies no one knows why they printed them when other loads of cards in wild need more support buff etc...
Also emote while you play these decks because that is essential for it. Because you are "good"!
While certainly I would love it if more people played "fun" decks that weren't necessarily built for efficiency, it's not up to me, or you or anyone else to decide what decks others should or shouldn't be playing. Obviously "fun" is a subjective idea, and for some people smashing their opponent by turn 6 is fun. And there's nothing inherently wrong with that.
Yes there is nothing wrong with that, but it feels like you are getting cheated almost. There are another 90% of wild cards that would love some support, buff or any help to be playable. They released those cards also right? They also released value generators, late game stuff. So they could get busted stuff aswell.
Can we sign a petition to remove mage from wild?
I agree, I'm tired of seeing top tier decks posted all the time and this is exactly all I go up against in wild. Since they changed the rewards system, I can't figure out the purpose of winning matches anymore.
I rather play a tier 3 or lower for the fun value instead of playing a 3 turn game or nuke the board every turn. I use to play exodia mage before the rewards system changed and i stopped playing because there was no need for me to grind out wins anymore. But I'm still going up against decks like there that are posted on here. and I'm scratching my head why people need to play tier 1 decks.
I would like to see decks with cards that aren't used often or put more mid-range or tempo style decks instead of nuke nuke nuke control or 3TKs decks.
Honestly most fun I have on this game are mid range or tempo decks. Combo sucks, control sucks, aggro sucks all 3 of those are no fun to go up against as I also see those are the only three archetypes that are commonly complained about on the pwn.
i'm a big fan of wild but the diversity of decks is disgusting. Hearthstone team needs to adjust wild more often
