Blizzard Responds: Kargal Battlescar Dust Refund Soon
Blizzard responded tonight after some in the community had complained about the fact that Kargal Battlescar, the Watch Post Legendary, was not made eligible for a dust refund with the Patch. This is now being fixed!
🛠️ In a hotfix later this week, Kargal Battlescar will become eligible for a full dust refund for 2 weeks. In the days following the hotfix, compensation will go out for players who dusted Kargal after the 20.0.2 patch notes were published. pic.twitter.com/dPVDjVvJsQ

Is this the first instance of indirect nerfs being refunded? One of the bigest complaints about the nerf refund system is that they'd often kill the cheap support for expensive cards/decks rather than the expensive cards directly.
I believe so
And it's a much better outcome than Mekgineer Thermaplugg, who was directly nerfed but with no refund back when leper gnomes were moved from 2/1 to 1/1
This is definitely a move in the right direction. Also, this is a direct nerf. The exact name of the nerfed card is writtne in the card text of Kargal.
Not sure how you see that as a direct nerf. You still generate 5/5's, so the power level of the card is no different. Though, it was nerfed indirectly, as the cards required to play this were nerfed. I think the distinction is very nuanced, but saying its directly nerfed is completely wrong.
Good to know you guys are actually looking inside Hearthpwn Forums and my Post caught your attention. Respectable decision. 👍
Blizzard is Love, Blizzard is Life. :D
But if you get him in a pack, you've got guaranteed dust to craft a legendary of your choice.
What if you craft Kargal and get sntiher legendary you don't want to use? I'd rather get Kargal in a pack, be able to dust him for full value and then CHOOSE which legendary I want to craft.
Unless I'm missing something here, this seems like realt bad advice.
no its actually a good advice. BUT you prolly wanna do that at about the last day of refund. during refund period, you might open it and thats good. but if the card is trash after the nerf, C and DE at the last day so that you wont open it in future.
If you don't have duplicates of him I don't recommend dusting him. Watch posts are still going to be really good.
Nope it will not going to be good. Magic and enemy minion can easy kill watch post now.
A really bad recommendation.
They're... not. You might still run the 3 mana 3/4 (which you get golden uncraftable for free) in control, but only two watch posts in a deck makes it not worth running Kargal.
The 2 mana 2/3 is just bad now. It dies to lots of 1 mana cards and there are 2 mana minions with better statlines and effects that can attack.
Literally no reason to not dust him, worst case you just use your dust to recraft him.
Bad advice. Most spells deal 3 damage, and dealing 1 extra is extremely easy for Mage, Rogue, and Demon Hunter. Also, 4 damage is a sweet spot for many classes as well. 5 Health early game is extremely hard to get rid of, but that 1 less health makes a HUUUUUGE difference.
Hey since the nerf to deck of lunacy is already live. If I craft it and then dust it...will I still get the full refund back or just 400? Curious.
for 2 weeks after the nerf is applied to the card, you can craft it and dust it for full cost, so, you can craft it and dust it for the same cost
So I have a golden Kargal Battlescar, but i'm only getting refunded 1600dust?
The refund is later this week
Ah. Ofc. Thanks :)
if you have dust then craft Kargal and after nerf gain back the dust, with this kind of action you will not receive in the future Kargal from packs until you have full collection. So this is easy profit, because Kargal legendary sucks and this method assure to not get him from hard earned packs ;)
It's so unvelievable to see that even in this scenario, where blizzard is giving dust and being kind to the community, people are still crying and complaining!
There are litterally 0 players being harmed by this decision. So even if you disagree (for whatever reason, i really dont know), suck it up and STFU.
