Balance Changes Coming Next Week - Mage, Paladin, Rogue & Neutral
Alec Dawson, a Lead Designer, just posted a Tweet mentioning balance changes next week as well as what classes will receive them + the final number of changes.
Quote from Alec DawsonBalance changes to go out early next week with 20.0.2. We'll be targeting some cards in Mage, Paladin, Rogue, and Neutral.
Hoping to create more space for experimentation in the early Barrens meta and have a more diverse field of classes.
6 changes in total, details coming soon.

I think they will nerf Paladin hard. Like the way Galakrond Shaman was nerfed. Currently both paladin archetypes have a +60% win rate on HSreplay.
Sword of. the fallen - 2 mana 1/2
Aldor Attendant - 2 mana 2/3 (same as the original unbuffed version)
First Day of School - 1 mana
Deck of Lunacy - 5 mana
Jandice Barov - 6 mana
Pen Flinger - targets minions only
I play control mostly, and have around an 80% winrate vs tickatus, its simply not that good if you dont play in to insane boardclears, the ony loses i had vs tickatus was when they got insane luck with cost reduction and played like 3-4 before turn 10,and with that kind of luck....you lose vs any deck anyways
the problem with warlock is all the crazy and cheap removal, the new 3 mana legendery is also crazy, and the new jaraxus solves all their issues with lack of minions so they can play all those removal spels
...
Warlock currently has a deep green winrate vs every non-face deck.

I like that they don't think Tickatus (or cascading disaster) is a problem, because it isn't meta... when it's only not meta because face face face is the meta. Tickatus stonewalls ALL midrange and control decks. If the meta is ever not aggro (unlikely, at this point), Tickatus becomes 70%+ win rate.
this announce is missing warlock.
Blizzard tends to not look ahead enough with these changes. Most players already dread the upcoming Warlock meta if the targeted classes get a serious nerf. I know I do!
NO MORE TICKETS!
Here's my predictions for nerfs...
Deck of Lunacy changed to 4 mana OR change to turn the spells in your deck to random spells that cost 1 more (instead of 3)
Jandice Barov changed to summon 4 drop minions
Refreshing Spring Water changed to giving back 1 mana when you draw a spell
Sword of the Fallen changed to 2 durability
Pen Flinger changed to 2 mana
Far Watch Post changed to 3 health OR change attack to 1
Pen Flinger at 2 Mana would see zero play, not even in Wild. Won't happen. Most likely will only target minions.
Deck Of Lunacy would likewise see zero play if it upgraded to spells costing (1) more. Won't happen. Costing (2) more could happen, but we'll see. A Mana cost increase is more likely.
Your ideas seem entirely possible, though I expect Refreshing Spring Water will become 5 Mana rather than changing the cool mechanic of refunding 2 Mana per Spell. The latter is a major part of the card's flavor.
Deck of Lunacy upgrading spells by 2 cost would be a buff imho.... would make changing your 7 mana spells into librams of hope even easier.
You're right about Pen Flinger, I just hate that card so much, I want it dead lol
i know it would be a shit show but what if lunacy was
Transform spells in your deck into ones that cost (3) more from the present and the past. (They keep their original Cost.)
Basically opening lunacy to the entire spell pool to bring back to its diluted form while yes you would get even more insane plays it would be a much smaller chance of it happening I wouldn't even suggest something like this but since they have printed cards that take from the wild pool before its not uncharted territory
On Warlock I think the issue is that the class has too much removal and healing. It should not be about removing its win condition but rather about making it possible for decks to be able to kill the warlock.
For Mage I don't think the issue is Deck of Lunacy. Deck of Lunacy means the mage cannot really have any plan and it is not at all rare to make half your remaining deck unplayable because it changes cards to spells that you cannot effectively use. I think the biggest issue is the effective 0 mana draw 2 and perhaps the fact that deck of lunacy keeps any existing cost reductions to your spells.
On the Watch Posts, honestly I'd want them to have 0 or 1 attack so I can at least use existing minions to kill them after they are dropped in two turns.
For Paladin, I think the only part of the deck that is problematic by itself is and has always been pen flinger. I have no idea how to nerf that card without completely destroying it though. Maybe increase both the cost but also the damage?
How many people actually kept reading after "I don't think Deck of Lunacy is the issue."
pen flinger must be 2 mana.and new mage card with 0 mana 2 draw must be nerfed too.its must be 5 mana
As a control priest player I think the real problem with control warlock is Y'Shaarj. Maybe it will be nerfed like they nerfed dragon queen so corrupt cards would cost 1 instead of 0.
So, from what I can understand...you don't want people to play the cards as soon as Y'Shaarj generates it? That would make the card near unplayable and massive anti-synergy with Strongman.
how are you going to play them?
yshaar is 10 mana and the card cost reduction is for 1 turn.
You are right. I missed that cost reduction is for one turn only. I just think that yshaar generate is too much value. 10/10, 6/6, 8/8, burn 5 cards and basically wipe opponents board...
that -10 discarded cards is **** bro i feel you , control priest main here too . Prob make Y'Shaarj 9 mana and cost from 0 to 1 ? just to play at least 1 card . 10 mana 1 cost cards prob would be unplayable . dont know yet , maybe to problem is tickatus . discard like 3 cards seems more legit
I feel like warlock's huge amount of removal is also partially to blame.
The deck is almost entirely removal or removal synergy with Ticketus, J-rax, Y'shaarj and taelon to tutor Y'shaarj as the top end.
They should make it like Kalegos.
"Your first corrupt card played each turn costs 0"
