Posted Mar 31, 2021 (Forged in the Barrens)Called it, Far Watch Post is stupidly broken. Its pretty much impossible to answer it on turn 2 with a 1 on 1 trade, aggro has to trade everything it has on board and control cant remove it at all, it is a no-brainer for all control decks.
Hell, even non control decks are running it cuz why not LOL, this has to be nerfed to 3 health asap.

Posted Mar 31, 2021 (Forged in the Barrens)Nah dude... the towers just have 1 more health than a vanilla stated minion but cant attack and therefore have an effect. They are not broken. Just strong vs the right decks like every card is strong is the right scenario. The towers just excel vs aggro and spamm decks.

Posted Mar 31, 2021 (Forged in the Barrens)Hell no, the 2 mana one is great in EVERY matchup. You play it on turn 2 or 1 with coin, wtf does the control player do? Nothing. Theres no removal that gets rid of this on 2 efficiently, so most of the time the tower effect procs at least twice, thats HUGE.

Posted Mar 31, 2021 (Forged in the Barrens)Breaking a bunch of aggro decks after last year's aggro fiesta is alright in my book. Let's enjoy the meta shift for awhile before aggro comes back. Aggro is nearly always dominant early in an expansion. This is a nice reprieve.

Posted Mar 31, 2021 (Forged in the Barrens)Dont forget: you dont really NEED to remove them. Yes +1 more mana on every drawn card is annoying but it does not matter in the long run. Its not like a bunch of aggro cards that you NEED to remove or otherwise you lose 10 or more health. They just steal your tempo a bit and do nothing otherwise.

Last night I ran into someone playing that watch post rogue deck, and I thought it seemed good for a random person on day 1.
I guess they must have been theorycrafting it and talking about it prior to launch.

Posted Apr 1, 2021 (Forged in the Barrens)Not necessarily. I've pulled Kargal from the pre-order packs and have the majority of all Rogue cards. I looked quickly and realised it was a good combination and started playing it. No netdecking, just a little experience with the game and imagination that something would work. And then you tweak it after some games. I looked at the net decks later e.g. they run Foxy Fraud and I've tried it and realised that it's a dead card so I removed it.

Posted Mar 31, 2021 (Forged in the Barrens)Eh. Not too worried about the decks on Day 2 of the expansion. Those need a ton of refinement.
Am kind of apprehensive at how widespread a handful of cards are: Watch Posts and Kazakus, Golem Shaper. Cause they are Neutral any class can use them which might mean that this whole meta might turn into different flavours of the same Watch Post concept. And I'm not sure that several months of that will be a fun meta to play in.
But we will see. For now it's still fun and fresh. :D
