Burn one spot in the deck on the card, in most cases it won't really do anything?
Imo, "burning cards mechanic" also kills joy of hearthstone.
MTG has infinite ways of countering combos compared to HS, cards like this are a reminder, that betting on just one card, should generally be a bad decision. A card that helps actual control decks with prevailing over OTK, is a friend of mine.
Same with Ygo. That is why they do have standardized removed cards pool and GY and a way to interact with em or shut em down. This cards reminds me of Necroface but without the hassle. Necroface btw.
I'm really starting to wonder if there's going to be an epic card or something that cycles destroyed minions into your deck en masse. And it counts burned cards.
Something like:
Bitter Necrolord
4 mana
Shuffle 5 minions into your deck that were destroyed this game. They cost (3) less.
...mill Warlock seems kinda fun. I'm not sure it's good, and it's obviously pretty annoying, but I don't necessarily mind it.
thanks blizzard
I already in love with this card xD
This is sometimes like turn 1 lethal for combo decks. Love it.
This is going to be a hot card.
Hopefully they print a card that brings back burned cards because this is silly. I thought this went against the whole attitude that its not fun to burn your opponents deck.
I think they the Blizzard intend to make people annoyed. With this card, the game will not be enjoyable at all.
Somehow I don't think they're going to print a tech card against a mechanic the same set they introduce it.
Even if they do print a card that brings back burned cards, what's stopping warlocks from... burning it?
Seems like a really good answer to Lorekeeper Polkelt being played. But even in wild that isn't something you see in most games.
Destroy 3 of my cards by destroying 4 of yours and paying 1 mana? Be my guest. I already was wondering why they even made the uncorrupted version of Tickatus because I couldn't think of anyone who would play it that way, but if it is this archetype they had in mind, it's somehow even dumber.
If you stuff a ton of soul fragments into your deck and they get destroyed in exchange for your opponents cards (statistically not going to be soul fragments) then that seems like a totally valuable trade. Also, the loss of your cards at the expense of an enemy players action has effects beyond tempo/deck destruction... anyone who has ever played yugioh or MTG know how demoralizing and psychologically castrating that can be. If you can get in their heads you can totally gut their ability to reason through turns and that alone can be game winning.
Sure not everyone, and perhaps not most people, thinks this way, but therein lies the strength. Tickatus is only in 3% AT MOST and yet how often do you see these threads where people have full tilted despite its low play rate (compare to Zilliax for example, or even a build around like Reno Jackson). Super excited to force rage quits and tweenage fits
Well, it will be quite hard to shuffle in that many Soul Fragments efficiently that it actually matters statistically as long as your deck isn't already almost empty. Also, you will need that healing if you more or less do nothing but draw and destroy cards.
Corrupted Tickatus is quite different, since you don't lose resources yourself. Sure, he's slow as hell and you need to play more expensive cards, but they actually do something. You don't just burn them away. Tickatus is value in sacrifice of tempo. This - in the very best case of many support cards that need your deck to be thin or empty - is tempo in sacrifice of value.
The new legendary adds value back though. But I can't imagine it being enough.
These are the type of people I can’t wait to use this card against.
gnomeferatu, tickatus, altar of fire, chaos gazer, dirty rat
The package is coming together ladies and gentlemen. We will mold the tears of our foes into dust to create all the deck destroying life sucking cards in gold

I played uncorrupted tickatus many times vs weapon rogue to the get healing next turn by applying lifesteal to tickatus. Also uncorrupted version is just a downside of the card - a balance thing.
Interesting application. Did it work out well in general? A sap could be pretty devastating in that situation.
If it's just about balance, they could have made him a natural 6/6 body that also gets +2/+2 when corrupted.
