Hunter as a class is so fucked, trash tier sub 48% winrate probably 9th place before priest.
Priest is worse though.
I think you're sleeping on Hunter. They can have targeted draw now, with Barak Kodobane, and Kolkar Pack Runner is a tempo-monster. Imagine that thing on turn 2, Coin and Adorable Infestation. If you play Sunscale Raptor, Tavish Stormpike can easily pull some great Beasts. Take into account that a lot of classes lose their best AoE's, and one can imagine it'll be tough for higher-end decks to control the game.
All in all, Hunter's top-end is 5 mana, and as a class, they've been doing very well if they have ways to thin out their deck and gain control of the board. I guess we'll see, but I'm almost 100% positive it will definitely NOT be as bad as you make it out to be now.
Omfg can u please stop complaining, if the cards are balanced they are boring and weak, if they are too good ur saying they are busted, please decide what u want!
Cards are very powerful: "Highroll decks, shitty discovers, whole game is RNG-based, power-creeps, too OP!!1!"
Cards are basic, less powerful, revolving around minions: "Expansion is so shit, such weak cards!!1!"
I am thrilled about going back to board-based games on Hearthstone. There have been a minimal amount of discover-cards, and all the cards seem to reward well-thought deckbuilding. Legendaries don't single-handedly carry entire classes anymore, or enable a whole archetype on their own. Can't wait for this to drop.
Everything, save mage, really feels like they want everyone to go back to minion trade heavy tempo games.
That's fine for some, but I really don't want every game to feel like optimized arena matches.
So - is priest just dead then in standard or am I missing something? No card draw, no win conditions, no good minions, no card or class synergy and a board clear (Condemn (Rank 1)) which is only slightly effective once it's no longer effective. The only intersting card is Xyrella and she's a one-off which you can't reliably draw and need some synergy with other cards to be effective (which are rubbish on their own Desperate Prayer.
I can't understand how the developers believe this game is balanced anymore. Rogue's can literally draw their entire deck by turn 8 with almost no tempo loss, while priest has no card draw at all. Card draw is absolutely fundamental to the game (both resources and options) and should always come at a cost.
What a disappointment - it's just going to be more of the same with (perhaps) an aggro palladin deck in the mix too.
C'Thun the Shattered is the win condition for all control decks.
I know it's from a past expansion, but still...
And Tikatus is here to destroy any control or combo decks that rely on multiple cards to win...
Cards seems so weak. Meh
Yeah, pretty dull expansion.
It's not that the cards are weak, this is actually a pretty well balanced expansion, it's just that sometimes the devs go absolutely bananas on the power level, which isn't the case here.
On second thought thankfully there is classic mode as this meta in standard will be more boring than rastakhan and kobolds ooze lock combined. Horrific.
There's a few missing cards that this post hasn't yet been updated to include, and it's been some dozen minutes so I'll comment them
Barrens Scavenger: Warlock Epic 6-mana 6/6 Taunt. Costs 1 while your deck has 10 or fewer cards.
Far Watch Post: Neutral Common 2-mana 2/4 Can't Attack. After your opponent draws a card, it costs (1) more (up to 10)
The last one might or might not be Venomous Scorpid
It's hard to keep track sometimes when you are working on several pages addign cards. I'll get those added to the news post.
The card list we always make is fully up to date guaranteed.
Done. Thanks for the keen eye in spotting them!
Thank you very much; I'll keep my eye on that page next expansion
But there's 1 token missing from it: The cutest little piggy ever :3 Hog
Well, this is the 1st expansion in the year. I don't know if this archetype is good enough now, but wil be viable with others expansions with more deathrattle cards.
I just don't understand why they made more DR support than actual DR cards for hunter.
I was expecting to see some good DH DRs today to go with all the support we've seen, but when I saw there was even more support without actual DR, I burst out laughing.
Hey, at least there are some good neutrals they can use
Yeah this archetype will be in standard for 5 more expansions following this one. I still think aggro and soul shard are probably the most dominant for this whole year, but one year from now with 3 more expansions and tons of good demon hunter cards rotating, I’m sure deathrattle becomes really good.
