There is always counterplay; lifegain and taunts work well against weapons. But for some reason, people only want to tune their decks against what they find "acceptable" and think that any deck that doesn't match their tuning to be annoying or uncounterable.
People have taunts and life gain but you cant just put 20 taunts and life gain tools. You need to understand that you are not going to face only rogue and warrior on ladder. That is why the epic that steals weapons is not a very popular tech. A 4/4 for 5 mana is a useless card in 80% of the matches and is not even autowin vs weapon decks. If you put a lot of cards that are just bad for winning the game you will lose more than you win for sure.
So weapons are an outlier that's not worth countering, yet also a huge problem for you. Interesting. You're also doing exactly what I just described.
Funny because when I play Poison I also get +1 durability
Seems like a nice option to do something with all those rogue weapon based cards in case Blizzard decides to do something about aggro.
or Aggro rogue will just put this and get a semi-inmortal weapon because Posion means: spells that buff your weapon.
I'm talking about when aggro is nerfed so I don't think it's that insane since two oozes are enough to deal with A LOT of cards.
Wandmaker just got the weirdest b...r ever, by the way. Every poison is 1 mana at the moment.
There is no freaking way they don't nerf Nitroboost Poison after this reveal.
I think the team knew about these cards before revealing them
There's been talk that nitro is being changed to 2 mana.
You need to play at least 3 poisons for this to be even comparable to Self-Sharpening Sword so I'm not particularly impressed by this unless Sword gets nerfed, which it might.
but maybe its so important to have a weapon in Weapon Rogue that you play both. idk.
Don't you mean 2 poisons?
You would think that poisons are a too specific requirement for this to work, but then again rogue draws so many cards...
rogue can (and likely will) run all 6 (2 of each of the 3) poisons in their deck given all their card draw, and this will scale better with that deck that self sharpening sword, you also don't have to save your attacks for weapon buffs, as long as you have 1 durability left each buff gives you another swing, so in a vacuum this is strictly better.
it's also worth noting that starting at 2 attack means 1 deadly poison puts this at 5 damage, and those little bits of chip damage really do make a difference in aggro rogue.
The REAL question is how common weapon removal will be, because if EVERYONE is running ooze, this will see no play, since a single ooze will always 2-for-1, possibly even worse, meanwhile self-sharpening sword can scale itself so if they decide to save the ooze for your weapon buffs, you can end up dealing 6-10 damage while they greed for the buff removal, and you could also just not buff it, save your buffs for burst damage from the HP weapon, so it gives rogue some juking potential.
if you play 2 poisons, this is a 2/4 and does 8 damage plus the poison damage.
Self-Sharpening Sword with no poisons does1+2+3+4 = 10 damage plus you can also add poison damage.
In order for this to also do 10 damage, you would need to play 3 poisons.
If you do play 3 poisons then its slightly better than Sword (barely) and in every other circumstance its WAY worse.
At 2 poisons it’s 2 damage different. Already made a post explaining the math
You can add those same 2 deadly poisons to the sword and it still does 2 more. That's why I only counted the base weapon damage.
5+6+7+8 = 26
6*4 = 24
The sword still does 2 more damage unless you have a third poison.
I literally said "plus the poison damage" in my original post.
lol you edited your post to completely change what you said after you realized you dont know how to do math LOL
No I edited the post because I misread your comment. I didn’t see that you wrote “plus poison damage” and writing that it’s a 2/4 weapon is very misleading. So no, had nothing to do with my math
I got the feeling like we're going to be keeping Ooze in our decks after rotation. The only thing rotating in Aggro rouge atm is evis.
