The flavor on this card is wierd and doesn't seem to make any sense at all, makes me sad.
The power level is hard to say. Looks like when Lady Liadrin was first revealed. Everyone thought it was garbage until librams were revealed. Suddenly it was bonkers and has been a staple in every libram deck.
Wait and see I guess.
This is exactly how I feel, there is definitely a strong support for this card coming up. Paladin truly needs a non-conditional card draw around 3-4 mana to make up for putting 1 cost spells in your deck.
More trash artwork on Legendary minions...
Realistically you can play this with 2 secrets.
Scenario A
* you get 2 (3/3) minions and a (4/4)
* your opponent's worst case scenario is they trade their minions with yours.
* they have to kill the (4/4) first
* then trade to kill (3/3) (you get a secret back)
* they trade the last (3/3) which would might trigger a secret Either protecting your last (3/3)
to setup this you need 3 cards
conclusion (not worth is)
Scenario B
* Your opponent ignores your board and goes face
* you trade your minions with their board and get your 2 secrets back.
Setup 3 cards with no immediate effect
Conclusion (Too slow not worth it)
10/10 worth of stats on turn 4/5 is quite strong it depends on if paladin gets any new secrets and how easy/hard they are to trigger .... also depends on what other support paladin secrets get otherwise yeah its a bit slow but who knows in this new meta
"10/10 worth of stats on turn 4/5" using 3 cards with condition based on your opponent actions.
Don't overestimate this card.
what really gonna happen.
you'd have this in your hand and two secrets on turn 4.
you play two secrets.
opponent turn - they pop your secrets and clear your board
your turn. you have a 5 mana 4/4 minion.
The core issue for paladin's secrets. they cost too much.
they are not just 1 mana. they are 1 mana and a card.
cards are really the most valuable resources for paladin. you don't want to mulligan for secrets. and you don't want to draw secrets.
they are only good if you can generate them.
No way this works. Good luck keeping Paladin Secrets up without triggering.
FYI, these are the current Secrets for Paladin when this expansion releases:
Avenge is really the only one you can prevent from activating from your opponent just doing stuff. That's the massive problem with this card. Mage and Hunter had plenty of secrets that they could bank in order to trip secret synergy cards later.
.
This is a good card if Secret Paladin takes off. The new and improved secrets and this so far it looks promising, but it needs just a little more secrets and secret synergy.
If they reveal even 2 semi decent secrets this expansion, this card will 100% see play. Mark my words.
it won't it doesn't need new secrets it needs secrets generation
Who am I?! None of your business!
Probably yeah, but it'd feel super bad to open this as my first legendary ngl for the first expansion of the year
Might be cool in Secret Paladin in Wild!
Worse in every way to the old hunter spellstone. You lose disruption (temporarily) and need to play more secrets to achieve the same result. Plus the hunter spellstone was epic so you could run two. Hunter secrets are generally much better than paladin secrets as well. I don't see this being played at all.
Why are you comparing this to old hunter spellstone? It was one of the most overpowered cards in the history of the game, it shouldn't be the benchmark for balance.
Not in every way, Paladin secrets are much easier to play at 1 mana. Still hard to play without a Secret Challenger type card though
also comes with a 4/4 body in addition
