Guardian Animals is better i think.
how does it work with libram of hope? do you get a 9 drop?
you will need to include several big spells since you need those in the deck by turn 8.
Also the fact it draws the biggest spell reduce the efficiency of the second Protector that you will play.
People are judging this card based on the power level of what Spiteful Summoner used to be, but this is by no means as strong. This is coming down on a turn against aggro where you are likely to die and late enough to be responded with removal.
This is going into my King Phaoris shaman. Another good minion for Jepetto Joybuzz to fetch. Hyped!
Check the current 9 mana minions and 10 mana minions from the expansions that are remaining! Not many are bad, so the pool is not diluted YET
Druid (and Hunter weirdly) is really the only class that has worthwhile 9-10 mana spells right now.
Warlock, Mage, and Priest all have decent 7-8 cost spells. But the 8 cost pool is kinda iffy these days.
True buddy but I was referencing Druid directly my bad, I can only see it played in their decks because of survival or Warriors if they get a good expensive spell. Other classes dont need this imo. Like Priest would rather summon a 10/10 copy of their own minion from deck then rez it.
Res it with what?
I imagine this will actually synergize kinda nicely with Idol of Y'Shaarj in priest. Play this, if they clear it, follow up with Idol.
Mage too, I think has a lot of use for this. Pull carnival and activate it (because this is an elemental). You have a good refill if they clear.
Doesn't look like this will be worth building a deck around in Standard.
It could bring back Spiteful decks in Wild. Being able to play Spiteful on 6, this on 8 and then have some fat 8-10 mana spell in your hand to follow it, seems pretty decent.
However, the pool of big beefy 8/10 mana minions has been diluted over the expansions, as they make more and more minions have fancy battlecries rather than raw stats. Hir'eek, the Bat, for example...
+2 mana
+ No real deck restriction since it always draws the highest cost spell.
Looks like they have, by printing an unplayable card.
Kinda OP for Druid.
Might be nice in C'Thun, the Shattered decks. Draw a 5 mana combo piece, summon a 6/6 and a 5 drop for 8 mana seems pretty good. Probably would want some kind of removal/stall spell alongside it so you can stay alive though.
It draws the highest cost spells not just any spell. You might have read the card text wrong.
this is really scary, ramp druid was already strong...
A jacked up more consistent Spiteful Summoner. But not every class has worthwhile spells that cost 10.
nice card +10
Thrall running this card in a deck with a 0 mana spell is asking for trouble.
