Card Rotation to Wild
With the introduction of Year of the Gryphon there will also be another rotation of the older expansions. Rise of Shadows, Saviors of Uldum, Descent of Dragons, and Galakrond's Awakening mini set will all be making the journey from Standard to Wild. The Demon Hunter Initiate set will also rotate to Wild, after just one year, due to the introduction of the Core Set.
We’ve highlighted some more notable cards that will no longer be available in Standard.
Rise of Shadows
The Rise of Shadows Set saw the introduction of Lackeys to the game as well as Twinspells. It was also the start of the Year Long story that was Year of the Dragon. You can see the full rotating set here.
The Saviors of Uldum
The Saviors of Uldum set saw the re-introduction of the Quest card and the Highlander archetype as well as the introduction of the Reborn keyword. You can see the full rotating set here.
Descent of Dragons & Galakrond's Awakening
After 15 months in Standard the powerful Descent of Dragons set rotates to Wild, and with it will rotate a large portion of the Dragons in Standard, including the Galakrond Hero cards and the related Invoke keyword. You can see the full rotating set here.
Galakrond's Awakening
With Descent of Dragons also came the Galakrond's Awakening adventure and mini set which will rotate too. You can see the full rotating set here.
Demon Hunter Initiate
With Ashes of Outland this past year we got the Demon Hunter Hero and the Demon Hunter Initiate set. With the Core set being introduced this set is now rotating early. You can see the full rotating set here.
in other words, we already knew about the rotation of those cards cause the iniciate set was revealed as part of the year of the dragon in the official announcement
mages losing mana cyclone, ray of frost and kalecgos from year of the dragon, then iceblock, sorcerer's aprentice, frostbolt, blizzard and arcane missiles from the apparition of the core set ... new cards from the barrens expansion better be good, because for now basically every mage archetypes have been destroyed. I've said to myself a while back that i would be wiling to spend money again on hearthstone if i could play the class i like decently on ladder (and that's mage if it was not obvious), it doesn't seem like it for now. The first 2 weeks will be fun because noone will know what to do and go with random decks, i'm looking forward to see how the meta settles .... only then i'll decide if i can spend money again on HS.
i know iceblock has been gone for a while but i still don't like that ...
Iceblock is the worst designed card of HS history
i never understand why people use their will to invest in the game as a resource to ask for better cards for their favorite class
"i hope they do this if they want me to spend money again" is not a good way to ask for something. Everyone knows that mage classic cards were a little overtuned and the more spell damage and card spamming rewards we get the more obvius it becomes. If any losing cards lik Sorcerer´s aprentice is something good because now we can get more cost reduction stuff or cheap spells in standard. Mage become one if not the most linear class alongside Druid in the last years doing the same over and over again even when they introduce "new mechanics" to the class. Spamming elementals to generate more elementals or spells, spamming spells for generate more spells.
Every class is losing a lot, yeah some lose more but in fact almost everyone will be on the same problem of "how i play this now" so i dont belive Mage is gonna feel terrible. Spell focus class always success at the end because is one of the fav archtypes of cardgames
The question is what new hell will be released next on us. Lol
No matter what it is. There will be a thread by someone on day one saying how broken it is and needs an immediate nerf, because they can't get off some convoluted theorycraft meme deck.
So glad to see Archmage Vargoth leaving Standard. Should make the idiocy of Resurrect Priest slightly more bearable. How anyone can enjoy playing that deck is a mystery to me.
I'd say "All Rez priest cards are rotating", but last timeI said that, they introduced all our current rez priest cards.
Havent seen Vargoth, or Rez priest in generall on ladder for a long long time now..
Cant say I will notice him rotate, also...was rez priest everin high tier in its latest form?
Also, when people say they cant understand why players enjoy playing it or priest in general, even saying "delete priest" and alike..thats kinda short sighted and childish I think.. not everyone enjoys the same thing and obviously alot of people like that class and archetype even when its not compeeting in the meta in any serious form.
I dont like aggro, i dont like playing it and never do but it never come to mind to cancell it from the game.
Also for the person asking aboe, I think in whole, demon hunter is being counted as a successful introduction in the game, atleast by blizzard
I never said to "cancel priest from the game." I made a statement that I'm happy that a deck which I find horribly tedious to play against will become substantially less viable. I don't "hate" priest: I actually played quite a bit of Galakrond Priest some months back. But there are few decks as widely reviled as Res Priest, even though (thankfully) it doesn't seem to be played too much on ladder anymore.
Rally! is still there
*crying*
Good riddance to lackeys. One of the worst mechanics in a long time. It has been wonderful sitting there while your opponent takes the longest turns possible to play a bunch of 1-mana stuff that reproduces faster than rabbits.
