Core Set Has Been Released!
The new Core set has been revealed and we have taken great effort and put every new card in our database, ready for you to use.
Here's the Link to the Database for the Core Set where you will find every card from the new Core set.
Here's the Link to the Deckbuilder which now has a special tab with the Core Set. You can now create decks to your heart's content with the new Core set.
Below we have listed the new cards of the Core set as well as some notable changed cards. With 235 cards it is obviously too much to list everthing!
BONUS: User Hikarigami made an AWESOME graphic where you can see just which changes there have been and how the Core set was put together. Thanks for the amazing work!

Question guys, next year, when they refeesh the core set, we gonna keep the core set cards of this year?
After looking at what's being rotated (apparently) and kept or changed. I'm still not all thrilled of it. like anyone I'm going to miss a bunch of the cards as well. If there is going to be 3 formats Classic, wild and standard, not sure . . . Blizzard's changes for this version of Hearthstone with the Core cards removes several Control, burst and Otk themes from classes. This also removes a lot of the not so used cards from card generators, giving a somewhat stronger pool to draw from. We'll have to see what what the expansions this year give us.
As for the class spells Holy, Fire, Arcane, Frost, Fell, Shadow, Nature (might be missing one). what about warrior none of their spells fit in any of these so how about Martial or combat as a tag for such cards. and why not another minion type UNDEAD.
Anyway this should make for an interesting year for HEARHSTONE
Im very sad that mage loses blizzard... i mean i thought control and wave clear should be a strength of that class, so i dont rly get why they did not left blizzard + new frost nova as the 2 main freez spells
You forgot Tracking
9 cards are missing to be exact
how greedy could some people be not to apreciate this all free stuff we getting every year from now on
TRUE
- The "Free" is a disguise for a massive scam, F2P wont be able to be competitive as before unless they grind.
- Since power level and variance is much lower with the core set - we will need to "buy" all new Legendary and Epic cards or stay with tier 2/3 decks.
- Also, DH which is the F2P friendly promoted class of last year, that was supported by a strong free initiate set, lost some if its staples and now not F2P friendly any more. same for Hunter which is another popular F2P class.
- I think F2P will need to play Rogue, it has the best core set and the aggressive weapon stealth Rogue deck is going to be around unless a big nerf is planned for the weapon and stealth package.
card games in general are expensive if you want to play ALL 9 CLASSES! F2P players can build about 2 meta decks without spending any dime. The reward system rework was in favor of F2P players.
iconic cards - i cut that
class identity - i butcher that
more randomness in mage - i bring that
hearthstone - i kill that
- Supa Hot Fire, Team5
The more I look at all the cut cards , the more I get worried for all the F2P players. Sure , we are all getting the core set for free, but the core set is half as big as the Classic/Basic set. This means that the options on deck building are going to be as dependent as ever on current, rotating set cards as it has ever been .
Also the core set is very underpowered compared to the classic/basic set. We got a couple of buffs like Jaraxxus , some of the legendary dragons and the 1 mana Shamman minion, but when you realize we are losing most of the staples in most decks shit starts to get serious. Hunter losing Kill Command, EH Bow, and animal companion, Mage losing all of its useable freeze cards, Sorceress apprentice and KT Mage, and Warrior losing shield block , BR, and Kor'kron Elite , just to name a few.
I seriously hope that the buffed cards are enough to help out new players making some cheap viable decks.
F* this game...if I could I would sue blizzard for deceive players into non refund for cards that they said would never rotate, Classic cards was the core of the game and so on...this is a total fuckup, they removed lots of tools from class identities and ppl that spent money in this will be screwed in no time. Guess I have to sell this acc and go to RUNETERRA already. it's a good time to start there, specially cause they already has tournament mode and with real prizes and money. Not this shit with paid actors from china and Europe and no opportunity so ever for new players
What? I don't see the issue. You can keep all your classic cards in wild and those new cards are all free and your point about actors just makes no sense and make you sound xenophobic
You don't keep all the same cards. The changed cards are changed, even in the Classic set. Only matters with, what, three or four cards that aren't straight buffs, but there is going to be a VERY sad bluegill. might affect Jaraxxus, might not, though would only matter for DOUBLE OBVLIVION!

(Not that I disagree with you - minimal changes, and probably dust refunds for non-basics that get changed)
Well, yeah. It is a bit messy, but you still keep the cards and can use them, they don't just go away into the void, they will still be in your collection, even if tweaked
Imagine getting this upset over getting free cards.
The bit people are getting upset over is the nerf to cards. Ysera (via dream cards), Bluegill, tracking etc.. Not the free cards.
which is dumb since the cards that you can really argue are nerfs (bluegill, tracking, druid of the claw, boar) are all like commons, so they are complaining over 100 dust.
Ysera's a leg (though they've since announced we're getting a refund for her, so maybe for the commons too, as negligible as they are), but it's more that these impact (non-problematic) decks from Wild that people like, which I can understand. I'd be peed off if they decided 'We want Ancestor's Call in standard, but it's a bit too powerful, so it's up to 6 mana' which would kill my main, fun, janky combo. Not that it would be easy to argue that that card would need a nerf to go into standard :P
I'm mainly wary due to the precedent being set. Any old card is now potentially getting a change to go to standard in future. They really should have made new cards, IMO, but Blizz have decided and that's how it goes :)
Does any one know if Core Set cards are playable in the classic format as well if they were in the Classic Set, for example Cenarius is now in the core set but can I play it in the Classic Format as 9 mana?
