Quote from BlizzardGather your gear and hold fast to your ambition, newcomer. This is the Barrens. The road before us winds through vast, sun-scorched lands, bringing danger and discovery beyond imagination’s grasp. Thorned dens of bristling quilboar, rampaging tribes of furious centaur, and treetop nests of soaring harpies separate the champions from the weak. The Barrens are the anvil upon which the Horde as we know it was founded: A literal crossroads where the tauren, trolls, and orcs came together for the first time. Heroes are made here. Perhaps you, too, shall be Forged in the Barrens.
Forged in the Barrens will launch worldwide this Spring with 135 new collectible cards! You can find the full schedule for card reveals and see which cards were announced today by visiting the card library here. Check back frequently—the list will be updated with new cards as they’re revealed!
New Keyword: Frenzy
The monsters, minions, magic, and machinery found within the boundaries of the Barrens can turn any upstart axe flinger into a champion of the Horde. Minions with the new Frenzy keyword will trigger a powerful effect the first time they survive damage!
Ranked Spells
Mastering magic is key to surviving the elements (and elementals). All 10 classes will have access to an all-new Ranked Spell that will grow in power as your reach 5 and 10 Mana Crystals, regardless of whether it’s in your hand or deck!
New Mechanic: Spell Schools
Magical Spell Schools are a permanent addition to Hearthstone, which will be applied retroactively to many previously released spells, adding synergies and a new layer of depth throughout your Collection! Spells in Standard and Wild can now have a tag from one of seven different schools:
- Arcane (2 Spells in Forged in the Barrens, added to 44 Spells from past sets)
- Fel (3 Spells in Forged in the Barrens, added to 22 Spells from past sets)
- Fire (2 Spells in Forged in the Barrens, added to 43 Spells from past sets)
- Frost (2 Spells in Forged in the Barrens, added to 24 Spells from past sets)
- Holy (5 Spells in Forged in the Barrens, added to 67 Spells from past sets)
- Nature (6 Spells in Forged in the Barrens, added to 112 Spells from past sets)
- Shadow (4 Spells in Forged in the Barrens, added to 109 Spells from past sets)

I have expected more than 4 mana legendary Blademaster Samuro for playing Veranus combo
Real glad that we're going on four years now without a new rogue skin tied to an expansion release.
Hey now, don't get greedy. We already have one whole rogue skin that isn't Valeera.
The next expansion after this 100% about an area for the Alliance then I expect will be a clash between the horde and the alliance as the red and blue mixed
I bet its going to be alterac themed
How does this makes it worse? Normal Spell Damage will still remain a thing, it simply opens up a design space to create more powerful spells that help specific nature that are worse without making already powerful spell even stronger.
I don't think so, spell damage and nature spell damage are (probably) processed by the game as 2 different keywords, so the end of turn effect by Ras will probably look at the value of the spell damage keyword
Well, we´ll see in a month if that´s true or not. (or sooner if they answer this question earlier)
Is there a date when they start the card reveal?
Already a question I see coming up:
Does Ras Frostwhisper count all spell damage or just general spell damage? (especially as I see that new legendary on 4, then Ras on 5 being not a terrible play although no spell damage totem making Ras sad)
It should count all spell damage, the "nature" specification should only affect spells, not minions.
i doubt it, and im pretty sure that normal spell damage cards will be printed anyway, just with the usual desing limitations
hopefully specifics count, might make Ras actually viable in shaman
Oh boy, can't wait to put Desperate Prayer in my wild Embrace the Shadow OTK deck.
Running Flash Heal, Regenerate, Radiant Elemental to cast 1 cost things for 0 & a Gadgetzan Auctioneer thrown in there to draw the entire deck right? :)
Ah, I see you are a man of culture as well.
So the expansion launches Tuesday 23rd March as the prepurchase is apparently possible until Monday 22nd via battle.net shop
Specific type of spell power? That is such a massiv mistake. They literally copy the super duper trash spell type mechanic from wow classic what is already annoying af.
its actually better, cause you can still make normal spell power cards, but now you can do aswell specific spell power without having trouble with the some direct damage spells that belong in other spell tribes, it actually opens more desing space. not only for spell power but for spell tribe synergies
Nope Shaman has important frost and fire spells that do not benefit from Nature Spell power cards. It makes things a lot worse
