19.4.1 Balance Patch Notes - Changes to Hysteria and Duels
Blizzard sent out the patch notes for the Hysteria change that will go live Thursday, January 28th, and which they announced last week. Read about it and the Duels changes below!

Standard Balance Updates
Hysteria
- Old: Choose a minion. It attacks random minions until it dies.
- New: Choose an enemy minion. It attacks random minions until it dies.
Hysteria will be eligible for a full dust refund for 2 weeks after the 19.4.1 patch goes live.
Duels Balance Updates
HERO POWER UPDATES
Outlander
- Old: [Passive] After you play the left- or right-most card, gain 1 Attack this turn.
- New: [Costs 1] After you play the left or right-most card in your hand, gain +1 Attack this turn.
Death Games
- Old: Trigger a minion's Deathrattle.
- New: Trigger a random friendly minion's Deathrattle.
SIGNATURE TREASURE UPDATES
Bonecrusher
- Old: [Costs 6]
- New: [Beast, Costs 8]
- Dev Comment: Turns out Bonecrusher is a silly rabbit.
Fractured Spirits
- Old: [Costs 5]
- New: [Costs 4]
Royal Greatsword
- Old: [Costs 6]
- New: [Costs 5]
Herald of the Scaled Ones
- Now has the Dragon tag.
TREASURE POOL UPDATES
- Cannibalism has moved from Passive Treasure pool 1 to pool 2
- Sandy Surprise has been removed from the Passive Treasures pool.
Miscellaneous Updates & Game Improvements
- Fixed a bug where Collection Achievement progress could get out of sync with the current contents of your collection.
- Dev Comment: You will still never lose credit for an Achievement once it's been completed.
- Fixed a bug where Arena could fail to load for new players.
- Fixed a Duels bug where the animation for Harvest Time! would play twice.
- Fixed a Duels bug where Shadow Word: Void would summon minions based on the target minion's default Health rather than current Health remaining.
- Fixed a visual bug where notifications would persist for the Journal after completed Achievements had been claimed.
Why not just prevent the spell from being cast on an immune target? Seems like a far better change.
The problem is not fixed. It's just deferred until they screw up again and put a card into the game that breaks the interaction again.
Hysteria should have been changed to "It attacks other minions" - once each, full stop. Allowing potentially unlimited attacks with "until it dies" is a design space disaster. (Hysteria was also too powerful in its previous state at 3 mana because of this)
I shed a tear for my favorite class getting screwed again.
Hysteria was SO needed. Tiller was a trash card.

Nerfing the new card instead of the old card makes me wonder what they have in development, because nerfing the old card made much more sense.

Just give Wretched Tiller "Can't be targeted by spells or Hero Powers" or make immune minions not targetable by spells.
Latter is better design - just changing Tiller means that you have that constrained design space. I suspect there's underlying code changes that would make immune+not targettable wonky, and would certainly take more testing/introduce more bugs. But it does feel bleh changing Hysteria.
As a Wild only player, it seems stupid they nerfed Hysteria for Standard, when the problem was Retched Tiller, a Wild card.
One great card broke wild due to synergies with a wild only card that no one played before... what do we do? Oh let’s nerf the new great card rather than the wild one that no one played before and no one will ever play again post nerf

I play standard where priest rarely seems to be viable , and the second it gets to be viable it gets nerfed.
Using Hysteria on your own lifesteal minion was really good against aggro..
