So the wretched tiller combo now needs Silas to continue?
If you want to kill yourself yes :)
I gotta say this is the first time in a long time I have been really really disappointed with a nerf. This kills a card that didn't need killed in the worst class in standard. I hope they come to their senses and revert this asap.
Wait wtf. Why in fucking earth would they nerf hysteria? Its not like its broken by itself. They should have nerfed either Tiller or, you know, Deathspeaker ? The fucking card that keeps spawning unintended OTK's and will continue to become a bigger problem in the future. Priest is struggling to have any viable decks and the moment they get a descent card, it gets nerfed. Is this to avoid people from getting good deals on dust refunds? I really don't understand this decision
But the other cards are commons - so this is slightly better for dust refunds. And a mechanics change to immune would mean zero dust refund!
totally agree, that card has enabled so many silly interactions. you've gotta admit however, nerfing Deathspeaker feels pretty bad when a card like Ace Hunter Kreen exists lol
Not that much because they really are different cards. For starters Kreen is class specific which by itself limits the amount of card interactions it has (hysteria combo can't happen on hunter/dh) Also the fact that minions are immune only while attacking means it can't trigger summon based OTK's like the juggler/patron/defile OTK. The problem here is immune is meant to win you advantage while trading, but it's really only being used to trigger OTK's.
This is the most stupid nerf. It was a decent tool to give one of your own minions rush. With a little random luck you where able to kill one or more enemies protected by a taunt. You could trigger your own deathrattle at the same turn to prevent the deathrattle to get stolen, silenced or transmorphed. Just to name a few possibilities. Now Hysteria is useless most of the time. They took away the good removals and now they took away a removal you had to combo. Like Abominatition + Hysteria, Lifestealminion + Hysteria, Freezeminion + Hysteria, buffed Infectious Sporeling + Hysteria, (havent tested, but minions who cant attack + Hysteria), Moat Lurker + Hysteria, Poison minions + Hysteria, Sylvanas + Hysteria, etc. etc. etc. etc. But nope, they chose to take away this tool from the Priest now too.
Hahah LMAO! WTF????? Instead of nerfing the Tiller they nerfed Hysteria to unplayable oblivion! What the actual fuck are they doing?! Is Team 5 really that retarded???
So instead of dealing with wretched tiller, which hasn’t been relevant until this busted combo was theorycrafted 15 minutes after hysteria was announced, they nerfed a new and very much needed priest card. Playing against aggro rogue where they keep a minion stealthed and thus untargetable, it is nice to be able to kill it by targeting your own minion. I have played hysteria on an idol of yshaarj moon fang to clear out an opponents board. I have played hysteria on a blood of Ghuun generated moonfang with apotheosis for a full heal. Nerfing hysteria to fix the tiller combo was the absolute worst nerf they could have made, it’s astonishing.
They could have just made Wretched Tiller be "The first time this minion attacks each turn do 2 dmg to the enemy hero" and everything would be fine but nah, they had to nerf a cool card for no reason cuz why not. Other than that great patch but ngl that one tilts me
Being one that was in favor of changing the inmune mechanic so no player can target it, I gave it some thought and came to the conclusion that the way the game is coded is that attacking with a minion also count as targeting it. Since you are allowed to attack with stealthed and inmune minions (or your hero) this would be in line with the coding, but if you change inmune so no player can target it, you wouldn't be able to attack with the minion since you are "clicking" on it, and could also cause some wierd bugs with those weapons that give you inmune while attacking.
One could argue that the "shroud" mechanic is a counter to my logic, but shroud says clearly "spells and hero powers", therefore it does allow to click on it, and by extension, attack with it if it's a friendly minion or attack it if it's an enemy minion. Inmune on the other hand, seems to completly block enemy click since you can't attack it either.
The only friendly minions you are not allowed to click on it are dormant minions, which would be the one true inmune mechanic.
The solution would be to have attacking coded as a seperate type of "targeting"', but that is not something you do in one week considering you are changing the backbone of the game, and could also cause a hell of a lot of bugs (that is how coding works)
R.I.P. tiller combo
Didn’t expect Hysteria nerf at all, I thought they would hit tiller because it was an old card, at least I’ll get dust for extra copies
They nerfed Hysteria, Unbelievable... In the same world where Nitroboost Poison exists, they're nerfing Hysteria... So dumb, so frustrating...
I cant believe it. They had one job and they choosed the laziest option. I thought they learned
about the Reckless Experimenter disaster, but no. They doing it again.
I hate it.
Hopefully it will fix the game for the iDevices stuck on title screen.
do you even play wild?
Dude, nobody is complaining about secret mage but that guy, I play wild all the time it's not that common actually, Reno OTK sees more play and is arguably more oppressive
As usual the HS team are too lazy to fix a broken interaction and resort to making a card less fun to indirectly address the combo.
Is making a rule like "can't target immune minions" too hard for a team of 100 people? I remember the old Naga Sea Witch nerf being another example of this. Instead of fixing the bug that made the (5) cost effect occur before cost reduction they ruined the card forever.
Blizzard does as good a job of nerfing broken combos, as Trump did handling the Corona crisis.
