Duels Mid-Season Update - New Treasures, Hero Powers, Cards & More
Yesterday, Blizzard also posted patch notes regarding Duels - NEW Treasures, Hero Powers, Cards & More.
Quote from BlizzardThe 19.4 patch, launching on January 21, brings the first-ever Mid-Season Update for Duels! All players’ Duels ratings will be reset for Casual and Heroic, the Darkmoon Races Mini-Set will be added to the pool of eligible cards you can use to build your 15-card starter deck, and each class will gain access to one new Hero Power and three new Signature Treasures—one of which is Dual-Class! Lastly, we’re adding 4 new Passive Treasures and 2 new Active Treasures for you to supplement your deck with between games.
Each class will now have access to 3 Hero Powers and 6 Signature Treasures in total! These new Hero Powers and Treasures can be unlocked by meeting the below criteria associated with your Collection.
- Hero Power #3 (Each Class) – Collect 1 Scholomance Academy Legendary Class card from that class.
- Signature Treasure #4 (All Classes) – Collect 125 Unique Madness at the Darkmoon Faire cards.
- Signature Treasure #5 (All Classes) – Collect 12 Madness at the Darkmoon Faire Legendary cards.
- Dual-Class Signature Treasure (All Classes) – Collect 150 unique Madness at the Darkmoon Faire cards.

New Demon Hunter Hero Power & Signature Treasures
I'm really wondering how popular Duels is compared to other modes. The mode is very interesting, but many of my friends are discouraged by the need to craft a lot of old cards. Plus silly collection requirements for unlocking hero powers and treasures.
Really interested Warlock's and Priest new hero power and treasures. Also what the heck Blizz just when I thought I wouldn't face bomb warrior anymore soon they do this
Note that no set is removed so don't expect a free ticket from a heroic
My opinion on new heropowers
Demon hunter - good but not better than free damage
Druid - useless in early rounds against aggro and not great against deathrattles
Hunter - looks like total trash. Hunter isn't the best class to play value and random 2 cost beasts are bad cards.
Mage - Mana wyrm one looks better
Paladin - *facepalm* Still the worst class in the mode
Priest - Interesting attrition tool but I doubt that it is effective.
Rogue - Interesting but seems rather slow
Shaman - This one is really good. Bad spells become good. Good spells become great. 4 mana 7\7 is a thing. I expect Shamans will to be a mid tier
Warlock - Good one but discard still looks better
Warrior - Ehm... How do you even beat control warrior with tons of armor gain + this in early rounds?
I agree for the most part, but actually think that the paladin ability could be pretty rad. Depends on how it interacts with killmoxx (which I sadly don't think it counters). Probably still gonna be a bad class thou, but deserves a try.
I think the druid ability is more about killing your own tokens and sometimes having a counter for enemy trump cards. This HP is really good I think, especially with argent squire and adorable infestation.
Warriors ability I somehow feel is bad, but you definitely have a point with the early game armor jam, to just survive face damage and pack the opponents (10?) card deck. I don't have much faith in having a deck that depends on constant armor gain for 1 bomb, but I also feel that I could be terribly wrong here :)
The buff given to Killmox for discarding is an aura, I believe. So, setting it to X attack will work, but then the buff reapplies, making him strong again.
The new warrior hero power seems nuts. How big are the bombs, 3 or 5-damage? There are a few armor sources available:
Armor Vendor, Armorsmith, Shield Block, Ironforge Portal, and Ancient Shieldbearer (if you're running legacy C'Thun) are what you can build your deck with. That's not including cards that you can add to your deck during the run and passive/active treasures.
I also think that Killmox will keep his stats sadly. I really hoped that they would have nerfed Killmox ability to a battle cry and do something about Mo'arg outcast so that we won't get killed by a single twin slice on turn 7
why yes. i would love to have a slightly worse version of oko's +1 as a hero power thank you blizzard :)
