The perfect solution would have been a simple recolor, that way even those who already have the cardback can get something new.

I much prefer just using the random card back rather than anything else. I'd never spend coins, let alone money on a cardback. Still surprises me number of players who just use the legend back, maybe several years ago it was an achievement but it's actually kind of plain looking!.

For anyone that does care, i think the call of the void back and the secret level one from tavern brawl are my personal favourites.

I would SO MUCH PREFER "Random Card Back" generator, if it worked in a MUCH BETTER WAY...

I'd like to see it give a random card back, to each card you draw.  It could then randomize all the backs again if you use the same deck, so you can't tell what card is next from the card back.  Each card would have a different back, every time.

What's the use of having 125+ card backs, if ya really can't show them off.  This way, you'd be able to show off much more of your card back collection during each game, heck, during each card drawn.

Just my opinion.

I honestly can't imagine them earning more than a couple hundred to a few thousand bucks on selling these, peanuts for a company like Blizzard. Who buys these when you get one for free every month? 

completionists. In hearthstone they are also whales. Why you would decide to be a completionist in a "pay to have a collection" game is beyond me. But still this people exist. Solem said it was a compleationist for a time, before he realized it's actually impossible to do so. (cause some cards and card packs were never available to the broad community). Also there are 500$ worth of skins packs during an year. 

Agreed, I could understand wanting to complete something if there was at least some way of showcasing it to the outside world but with cardbacks you can only show 1 cardback to 1 player at a time. 

It's funny because when they gave us this card back, many people complained because they preferred the classic pack they usually gifted in tavern brawls.

I did, but then every year after they game the new players the card back and the old players the card pack. They could just give both if you ask me. But yes, it's funny now that people want it for some reason.

They should change the labeling of the requirement for card backs to say what was originally required to get the card but also with "or purchased for 500 coins or 3.00."

For the people who are saying this is wrong because it screws over the people who got them a long time ago...  just wanted to say no one cares about the card back during the game.  I don't pause and look at what card back my opponent has because I don't care.  I'm sure a lot of others are the same way.

Second.. to people who got this card back the first time around.  Your prize was having this card back before everyone else and being able to use it all this time.  And you didn't have to pay gold or money for it.

Once again, I know it's a sh*ty attitude to have.....but thanks for making cards backs less special for those that took the time to earn them when they first came out and before THEN WENT AWAY.

It is nice that new players get a chance to get them, but it takes away from those who got them originally.  
I'll use my WOW reference.  I wouldn't expect to get the "Log in on WOW's 10th Anniversary" Achievement, if I didn't start playing until year 12.  This is along that line I believe.

The fact is, if everyone has a cardback, it is no longer special. I agree with you.

I mean, which are the most sought-after cardbacks currently? It's probably Pandaria or Dalaran Flame, precisely because they are harder to obtain.

everyone was complaining about missing a pack when the winter veil brawl brought this card back for X years in a row, so let's just complain for another reason
