Last season I've bought it for discounted price, but it contained additionally 4 tickets. Without tickets it is maybe worth 1000g IMO... 

Could this mean we are almost done with beta??

I see a lot of people wondering why the MMR reset. My bet will be that they are going to change something with the said system and thats why they need to "level the playing field".

Are BGs still overrun with elementals or lose?

If your games are all 'elementals or lose' then you should definitely look into your own playstyle instead of blaming BG's. They're easily countered, not even considered S-Tier right now and even worse when 4+ people in the same lobby are going for them.

Elementals are suffering from success right now.

Unless you get Chenvaala, elementals are going to have 3-6 players going for them which ends up making all other tribes much easier to ramp up.

"They're easily countered" not really? The only tribes that can kinda work are Murlocks, Dragons or Pirates, but Murlocks can fail if you don't have divine shield heropower since elementals are much more minion effective thanks to divine shield and "deal excess damage". Pirates and dragons need a bit of luck and time to get core minions. So yeah would call it "easy counter" (or at least a counter that won't kill you when fighting others).

I think the problem with elementals are there are so many cards that generates random.elementals + nomi buffs

i hate that the ladders and bg reset so often.  it feels like i never make progress since i don't grind for hours.  don't understand the philosophy behind it.

No, the tavern pass resets with each main expansion release.

As a plebeian I look forward to our high ranked overlords demolishing us for the first few weeks.

Does anyone else not give a damn about the ranking either and just concede once or twice until you get a fun hero power? No way I'm gonna pay 20 bucks just to get 2 more options to pick from.

Same here ... i dont care about ranking. But I usualy dont concede very often , only if i get realy unlucky with heroes.

And yeah, 20$ for 2 hero options and some stats its ridiculos. If they merge this with the tavern pass ... and make it 20$-25$ ... i would buy it ... but like this, no way. I`ve payed blizz to much over the years , that time is gone.

What is the point of doing that? Are the rewards different at a higher MMR? From what I understand, they will just be gimping themselves by now matching against better players. 

No point for most people but on Twitch high MMR = high viewers. A guy got 700+ viewers on day 1 of his stream because of his 17k+ mmr (not saying he used the MMR exploit).
