Darkmoon Duel-Fest Today - 24 Content Creators, $200,000 Prize Pool
Blizzard just announced a huge tournament for 24 content creators in Duels. All of them will be competing for a $200,000 prize pool, today, Tuesday November 24th from 10am PT/ 1pm ET/ 18:00 GMT/ 19:00 CET.
Quote from BlizzardWe’re excited to announce our first ever Duels tournament, Darkmoon Duel-Fest! 24 of your favorite Hearthstone creators will compete for a piece of a $200,000 prize pool on November 24, from 10:00 a.m. PT to 4:00 p.m. PT on Twitch.tv/PlayHearthstone, YouTube.com/Hearthstone, and their own respective channels!
Darkmoon Duel-Fest will utilize a brand-new format we’re calling Last Duelist Standing. In this format, competitors play through 3 closed-circuit Duels runs until either one player remains, or one or more players reach 12 wins. Players are awarded 10 points for game win, and once a player loses 3 times they are out for that run. After the 3 full runs are completed, individual scores from each run are combined to make a player’s final score. These final scores will be the decider for the event’s results and prize pool, and additional prizing can be earned for being the “Last Duelist Standing” of each run!
Who will earn the title of Last Duelist Standing? Join us at Twitch.tv/PlayHearthstone or YouTube.com/Hearthstone on November 24 to find out. We’ll see you in the chat!

Wow...the stream was actually super fun. Loving the content by Blizzard.
Just want to know if I am not alone in this:
I thought new game format will be something like mini-tournaments with such conditions that help eliminating deck and class bias and luck impact in constructed (which is the issue that many people seem to complain about).
I thought the new mode will be like:
- 3 decks 1 ban BO 3 match ladder (you prepare 3 decks and look for an opponent to play BO 3 for rank increase, with 1deck banned by opponent)
- or alternatively a 3 round 1 deck knockout tournament for 8 players (you choose 1 deck and get into 1 to 3 matches against other 8 players for rank increase)
I am disappointed that the new mode seem to bring even BIGGER deck bias and luck impact.
On the way mate
I hope and wish that there will be alot of people who want stay silent and inform blizzard how "wonderful and enjoyable" game is. How we all "love new system", how "generous" company is and how is good that they are "listening" to community. Ah, what a wonderful company!

I am gonna watch it. Seems interesting.
Do i get anything for watching. Reread it 2 times to make sure.
answer: no
so why should I watch it or care? Unless if you wanted to watch person x anyway?
Because some people enjoy watching it..... It's like asking why you would watch anything when there's nothing in it for you. What's in it for you is you enjoy watching it, if you don't like the content, don't watch it. It's really bloody simple.
This community now expects gifts for what is essentially watching TV for crying out loud, truly pathetic.
Edit shorted what i said.
I said im not watching it because i don't get a thing but i also said the only reason you would watch it if you want to watch it or the streamer. You just made that comment because it the 1st person that you saw that said they want something without reading the whole comment or the last sentence was just ignored because it saying what you said.
and the last part summer is they have better stuff to spent their money on than that duels.
F*ck the stream but I got popcorn ready for the chat.
Im definitely not watching that
- favourite crowd, all blizzard “influencers” several other good and honest players excluded
- duels mode is not good for tournaments, with all this rng? Really??
- $200k reward for 24 players in the middle of an outrage for the new rewards system, its price, the mini release and the effort to make players take out the credit card as often as possible. Needless to say that most of the 24 have remained quiet over the past few weeks
Btw it is a good question. Have anybody of 24 streamers/pros/public persons said anything about this new bullshit reward system or not?
Regis and dekkster both mentioned something about the bad reward system.
Dekkster made a good video. Do not know about the others.
Not that it's relevant but yes, they have, to a degree.
I don't come out and post videos about every decision my company makes that I don't agree with. Whilst they aren't employed by Blizzard, I imagine certain expectations are still laid out. They earn money through Blizzard and as such, would likely be held to any social media policies etc that almost every business now has.
It isn't hard to find stories of people losing their job due to posts or videos they've made and those are direct employees. These guys are effectively 'partners l' or similar, fo course they aren't going to go overboard and slam Blizzard.
You lot need to grow the fuck up, you're so narrow minded and naive.
Why did they even develop duels? No one wants it, no one likes it.
Another boring, totally RNG based game mode.
And they are trying to make us play it, to farm all that xp, all those achievments that grant xp.
Thanks, but no thanks!
Because it is "new". And didnt take any effort at all, just recycle what we did years before and slap a game mode on it. There you go, new content now shut up and gimme your moneyz!
You don't speak for everyone. Your little Internet ego might make you think your opinion is paramount but sorry, Dakhrok, it isn't. I've had a blast with duels and know plenty of others who have as well.
Not interested in the slightest. I hope you get hardly any views. I’m surprised at some of the streamers too, too scared to stand up for the community incase they lose out on all this free money. Oh well boys (and 2 girls), make the most of it cause I doubt very much it’ll happen again once everyone decides to boycott.
None booster for watching?
