This is a pretty powerful card for Deathrattle Mech Hunter, if that archetype turns out to become viable before rotation:
has synergy with Nine Lives, Ursatron and most notable Oblivitron
also, unlike Akali, the Rhino it doesn't require you to play an awful 8 mana 5/5 AND overkill something to trigger the buff
God damn they always have the most incredible reveals, waiting for their stuff every expansion. Blizzard must be elated too, it's a great commercial for the game.
So this time his reveal seems to be posted on official Hearthstone YouTube channel, with preorder ad at the end. My guess is Blizzard actually started paying him for the reveals now. If that's the case, good for him. I always look forward to his reveals.
This video is pure art
Bad cards with singergy potential are still bad cards, simply because if you dont draw the sinergy together you end up with a hand of bad cards. I'll give an example of why this card is not good enough at 6 mana
Evasive Wyrm, 6 mana card, 5 attack rush very simillar. Instad of drawing a card and give it +3+3 it leaves a untargetable 5/3 on the board. This is an much better card and also has a trival tag to be synergyced with. It is not played that much, sometimes it is used because there are not enough dragons out there and you need some. So why would a worse version of a card that is played very little be good
1. 1 attack can make a difference.
2. 5/3 untargetable body is pretty trash, and most decks which would include a card like evasive wyrm would rather draw a buffed card than have a body. Untargetable bodies are good in aggro lists, but evasive wyrm is too expensive to put in aggro lists, so it doesn't really make sense to include.
3. if you even considered including evasive wyrm in a list, it's likely that you would want to use it to make good trades while leaving a decent enough body to apply a bit of pressure and swing the board. One commonality between decks that like to swing/control the board is that they are often draw dependent so that you can find your answers and swing cards at the right time. With an extra draw, you will be able to more consistently find those cards at the right time.
4. With new menagerie cards like the new n'zoth, people will be looking for cards to include with various tribes. this is one of the best mechs in standard right now and it's available to everyone. There are lots more dragons available, so the dragon tag is not as useful on evasive wyrm.
5. There are plenty of cards that synergize with deathrattle, way more than divine shield or dragon. If there is ever a deck that is built around deathrattles, this card would be considered way before evasive wyrm.
You cant say that Evasive Wyrm which kills a thing a leaves a body is trash, and a card that kills a thing and leaves nothing is good.
Look, this happens every expansion, when new cards are shown most of them are overhyped, the forum is full of very well recieved cards that later on will never be in a competitive list. This card is one of them.
I'll be happy to 1vs1 you with custom decks when the expansion comes out, we will see how good this really is ;)
i didn't even say this will be good dude. and yes, i can say its trash when it doesn't fit with the game plan of a deck that would use it. All i said was that this can be used in more ways than removal, and is better than wyrm for quite a few reasons. 5/3 evasive body in a value oriented deck IS trash in comparison to drawing a card and giving it +3/3. On paper, sure, a 5/3 evasive might be better in some situations, like an aggro list, but not in the decks that would want to use it, which value cycle much more than a minion which can be traded away by a 2 drop.
Dragon highlander hunter was one of the best decks of the meta, and Evasive Wyrm was run by some legend players that I faced those days. So no, its not simply trash.
And if you agree that Claw Machine is not even good what are we talking about, I never said anything about the design, just the viability of it lol
his probably will see play, not all classes have cces to a good mech for n'zoth, and if n'zoth is good, this is board impact for it
Evasive Wyrm isn't bad in Dragon Highlander Hunter: it is removal, it is a dragon, you can only run singletons in highlander decks.
Claw Machine is not just removal (yes, 6 is enough to remove most stuff). Most importantly it is not card draw but a tutor.
You can specifically run this in decks with only a few minions to increase your chances of getting your key cards.
Whether we will see such decks is a completely different discussion and depends on the rest of the available set (current and future) and of course the meta.
That reveal video was insane!
I dont know about this one, at 6 mana you want your removals to kill anyting, not to be limited to 6 health minions so I dont see a reason to put this in any deck, yes looks decent, but not good enough for constructed. Definitely good in arena tho
If you look at this card and all you can see is "deal 6 damage to a minion," then it's a good thing you don't design cards. This has much more use than just being a removal. it can be used as removal, sure, but it can also be resurrected, draw and buff cards, get additional triggers if you build your deck to do so, and be used for the mech tag.
Uneven stats. Check!
Good effects. Check!
I am gonna take one of these into my reno rattle decks!
Reminds me a lot of Cursed Castaway, if that card didn’t suck. Imagine having +1 attack, being a neutral instead of class card, having a much more useful tutor effect, and giving +3/3. This is powercreep over 9000. And necessary, if it is going to see any play
Yeah, this is awesome. We’re gonna see a lot of this in a couple of weeks.
Would you rather have this or the 5/3 dragon with divine shield and can't be targeted? Probably this, but not by that much.

Amazing LP really knows how to make a 6/3 attacking a 6/6 look awesome.
