I will replace Emperor Thaurissan in my Renolock with this. One slow card for another win condition!
Oh THANKS GOD this is a demon, it can't be played in the control DK Warlock in wild because of that.
To use that in the wild deck : you have to use a 7+ mana card. So either the 7 mana 5/7 or 9 mana 3/9 demons, or Nzoth/DK Warlock. The chances to not get this card AND all the other demons taken from hand by Voidcaller or Skull of the Man'ari is veery low, so in the end will be very impractical.
There are so few cases to make this card work in the actual viable control warlock decks that is not worthy enough.
5 cards is a lot to lose especially late game. It will change peoples strategy to keeping some high cost cards in their hand or other cards they just can't afford to lose when playing warlock.
From a wild perspective I think this card will only look good rather than be useful. Demon warlock is full of high cost demons that can help trigger the corruption effect but demonlock in Wild is stable because of the ability to cheat demons out early. This reduces the effectiveness of this card since if it get's cheated out then it loses it's effect, and if other demons get cheated then it's harder to trigger the corrupt effect. Maybe a slower purely control warlock build that focuses on corrupting, copying and then copying again with Y'Shaarj is possible but I don't see it fitting efficiently into any current warlock list.
x2 Felosophy this + Y'shaarj = mill 30 cards
If you thought the hate for Priest was over the top, just wait until Warlocks get their hands on this card.
I like these sorts of cards myself. Two Gnomeferatu and one of these in Wild, plus throw in Brann Bronzebeard and Control and Combo decks are going to crumble.
You can't play that in wild. Warlock decks play with taking demons out of hand and this is a demon.
I LOVE IT!Beautifull effect, beautifull artwork!Nice job Blizzard!
You could destroy enemy deck by playing this card 3 times. LOL
Give it to me now! Golden!
Hmm... I was going for some Demon Hunter in Wild but looks like im gonna stay Warlock. One of the best cards I have ever seen.
Uneven stats like 5/9 or 10/5 would have been nice.
I LOVE IT. But a nerf is inevitable..
My main is warlock. And i think this card is just unfair.
Best card in the set for me. I don't know about standard, but I'm getting this in every wild Lock deck. 1/6 of opponents deck, PUFF!
Muahahahahah, LOVE IT
This is a strong (but slow) legendary. No one is playing anything but the corrupted version.
That said, I hope I get a gold version of this card.
You don't care about burning 5 cards in your deck against aggro or midrange. You care about that only against combo and control. So this is a 6 mana 8/8 against aggro and midrange. So yeah many will play uncorrupted version.
This will cost 8 mana soon. Incredible impact.
But how do you want to corrupt this card than? Play a 9 mana card? XD This nerf will never happen.
So, 2 points:
Against aggressive decks: This card is just a 6 mana 8/8 (which could potentially lose you the game if you somehow end up going to fatigue). IDK, man, it's alright enough, I guess. Depends whether you're already dead on board by 6.
Against Control decks, and especially combo decks: This card coming down against a combo deck could very reasonably be an insta-concede.
On net, how good it is depends on the prevalence of aggro vs. combo going from 'Eh,' to 'Oh god' (as well as on how solid a controlling warlock playstyle is).
Additionally: This card is honestly pretty solid as an aggro card, ignoring the corrupt effect. Shaman ran their 4 mana 7/7. Fel Reaver saw play in certain decks. 6 mana 8/8 mill 5 is honestly not unreasonable, but... Nonetheless, I wouldn't expect to see it run in Aggro.
Corruptlock is getting too real and scary at this point
