Check back frequently—the list will be updated with new cards as they’re revealed!
Return of the Old Gods
The Old Gods—C’thun, N’Zoth, Yogg-Saron, and Y’Shaarj—are back! Each Old God drives a different deck archetype and has a potent Battlecry capable of turning the tide of a match. They’ve really embraced the festivities—take Yogg-Saron, Master of Fate, whose Battlecry lets you spin the Darkmoon Wheel if you’ve cast 10 spells this game!
Players can also tamper with Old God artifacts: four ancient spells with zany effects that hearken back to the abilities of the original Old God designs! Keep your eyes on the card library as we’ll be revealing these artifacts soon.
New Keyword: Corrupt
Madness at the Darkmoon Faire introduces a new Keyword: Corrupt! Corrupt cards upgrade in your hand after you play a higher cost card. Plan ahead and upgrade your Corrupt cards before playing them for a major payoff!
New Game Mode: Duels
With the announcement of Madness at the Darkmoon Faire, we’re pleased to reveal a new game mode we’re releasing alongside it—Duels! Duels mixes the fun of a Dungeon Run with the excitement of head-to-head competition. In Duels, you’ll choose a Hero, a Hero Power, a signature Treasure, and build a 15-card starter deck from your collection before facing off against a series of worthy human opponents. Between each match, you’ll level up your deck by adding minions, spells, and powerful Treasures! You’ll get early access to Duels when you pre-purchase Madness at the Darkmoon Faire. Learn more about Duels in our announcement blog here!
Progression & Rewards Revamp
On top of the new expansion and game mode, we’ve completely overhauled our progression and rewards systems! Set to be Hearthstone’s biggest systems update ever, the progression revamp includes 4 major parts:
- The addition of an Achievements System that tracks your in-game accomplishments.
- A central Reward Track for all earnable rewards outside of Ranked play.
- A Quest Revamp that supports daily and weekly quests.
- An updated Profile Page with player info, ranks, and stats.
You’ll be able to access each of these pages by clicking on a new Journal icon that will replace the Quest Log on the main menu. The Progression & Rewards revamp will go live on November 12, read more about it in our deep dive blog here!
Year of the Phoenix Phase 3
Madness at the Darkmoon Faire marks the final phase of the Year of the Phoenix. In Phase 3, you can expect several major updates, including balance patches, new Battlegrounds Heroes and minions, a seasonal event, and what was previously spell-locked—updates for Duels, a Mini-Set of 35 cards set for release before the next expansion, and another new game mode! We’ll have more details to share on these developments in the new year!

Any idea why the expansion is so early this time? It was always like ~8th of December.
It says the launch day is November 17th
I'd probably say it has to do with the pandemic, but who knows...
I think the new WOW expansion releases in December, so they probably didn't want it to overlap with the new HS expansion.
I read that wrong oops but they said something about a mini set so maybe they are going to release that in mid/late December so they pushed it up.
Money? If future expansions last only 3, months and one week, like this one, they can lell more stuff.
Or, the fact that there's a pandemic screwing up everything on the planet... The expansions are measured by "years", Year of the Phoenix will have 3 expansions. Really don't have to be a rocket scientist.
So, was the Book of Heroes part of phase 2 New Game Mode or New Solo Experience? It's disappointing to get that instead of delving into the academy and finding out the secrets they hinted at. I was looking forward to fighting in Scholomance in Hearthstone. It's a fun dungeon in WoW.
looks.. like thats not the case.. only boring-ish book of heroes.. :/
90% sure the book was the "New Solo Experience"
So the Mega Bundle doesn't even include the new Tavern Pass now? Yikes.
Uhhh yes it does
Tavern Pass differs from Battlegrounds Pass. Seems like it's not included in the pre-order, no pricing announced yet afaik.
@Icy133_
How do you know it does include the "Tavern Pass" (Not the Battlegrounds Pass) ?
Checked the shop description and no mention on the Tavern Pass, neither on this site.
I don't get why warlock got the N'Zoth hero portrait while priest is obviously connect to the old gods... 🙄
Downvoted but you are correct ...
First Warlocks were created by Kil'jaeden, the right-hand man of Sargeras. Sargeras hates Old Gods and the void, he basically made The Burning Legion and what not to kill everything that could be corrupted by the Old Gods. So yeah, warlocks getting N'Zoth is pretty ironic.
Nevertheless, I don't mind it, HS doesn't care about WoW lore and a long time since Warlocks got a skin.
On that note about the lore. Yes Hearthstone has always made it's own lore. Because the premise is about this magical inn full of adventures of every part of Wow telling there tall tales and legends. This allows the premise to go in every direction and not mess up Wow lore.
I will be the only comment you see that won't be too serious or just pretend to be a big critic.
I actually like this, its a cool expansion and an idea and I love seeing new stuff. That's all.
I'm with ya
Did anyone else find Kibler being mounted on that prop a bit unsettling?
