18.4.2 Patch Notes - Balance Changes to Ragnaros & Other Heroes and Cards in BG
In an upcoming patch, scheduled for next Thursday, October 15th, Blizz will address at least some of the Balance concerns people have expressed about Battlegrounds since the Elemental introduction patch. Read all about what's coming below!

Battlegrounds Hero Updates
- Bartendotron has been removed from the Battlegrounds Hero Pool.

Sulfuras
- Old: At the end of your turn, give your left and right-most minions +4/+4.
- New: At the end of your turn, give your left and right-most minions +3/+3.
Maiev Shadowsong
Imprison
- Old: Make a minion in Bob's Tavern Dormant. After 2 turns, get it with +1/+1.
- New: Make a minion in Bob's Tavern Dormant. After 2 turns, get it with +1 Attack.
Chenvaala
Avalanche
- Old: After you play 3 Elementals, reduce the cost of upgrading Bob's Tavern by (2).
- New: After you play 3 Elementals, reduce the cost of upgrading Bob's Tavern by (3).
Patchwerk
All Patched Up
- Old: Start with 50 Health instead of 40.
- New: Start with 55 Health instead of 40.
Sindragosa
Stay Frosty
- Old: At the end of your turn, Frozen minions get +1/+1.
- New: At the end of your turn, Frozen minions get +2/+1.
King Mukla

- Now has a chance to give King Mukla a Big Banana that gives a minion +2/+2.
Battlegrounds Minion Updates
- Whirlwind Tempest has been removed from the Battlegrounds minion pool.
- Pogo-Hopper has been removed from the Battlegrounds minion pool.

Majordomo Executus
- Old: At the end of your turn, give your left-most minion +1/+1 for each Elemental you played this turn.
- New: At the end of your turn, give your left-most minion +1/+1. Repeat for each Elemental you played this turn.
Lil’ Rag
- Old: [Tier 5], 4 Attack, 4 Health.
- New: [Tier 6], 6 Attack, 6 Health.
Gentle Djinni
- Old: [Tier 6], 6 Attack, 8 Health.
- New: [Tier 5], 4 Attack, 5 Health.
Yeah! Finally we get them balanced!

Am I the only one feel the elementals are actually buffed other than nerfed???
Removing Pogos? Damn. So in a few weeks they killed my 2 favorite builds: Pogos and Murlocs. At least Murlocs are still in the game but it's way less fun without Megasaur. Pogos will be missed ... at least by me. I hope we'll meet again, my bouncy friends :(
I've been playing quite a bit of murloc, probably more than before. way fewer people play them so they are easier to get in your tavern. combine with bran and get 50-100hp poisonous minions np

I guess moving Lil’ Rag to 6 will give elemental players more incentive to move from tavern 5. Games are still going to be heavily favored for anyone who triples on 4 and picks up a copy of Nomi though.
Demons and Pirates are still unplayable. A top 4 will be about the best you can hope for.

Aww why’d they get rid of Whirlwind Tempest? Mega-Windfury was fun.

Now he always buffs +1/+1, even if you didnt play elemental that turn. And he add +1/+1 for every elemental you played that turn

Good changes overall.
Instead of removing Pogo they should have make Jandice's hero power to not work with Pogos. Now mechs lost their best build.
no mech build used pogo in it...
They should make Reno's HP only work on tier 4 or lower also while we at it.
That and pogos were always stupid anyways
having her reset buffs would of basically gutted her to near uselessness...no pogos means she's just good with skilled play over a huge hurdle to deal with because Mechs are a thing....
Why, exactly, would she become "nearly useless"? She can still swap tokens for real units, which is immensely strong early game. She can still swap low value units for a chance at higher value units mid game, which is useful. And she can still duplicate any battlecry by swapping the minion back and rebuying it. She just wouldn't be able to do it with pogos and amalgadon, with which it was CLEARLY broken.
So again, nearly useless? REALLY?
Amalgadon isnt broken with her...anything outside of Bubble and Poisonous is extra and your better off buffing Amlagadon outside of that with pitcher, Kalegos, Lil Rag, etc. Plus hes a 6 drop he's by definition SUPPOSED to be game winning. I would only use Jandice on an Amlgadon if I didnt get those normally AND Murlocs and/or Mechs were banned.
Pogos were the only thing actually broken with her since they were the only one whos buff is multiplicitive.
Without keeping the buff you can only recycle a battlecry (still useful) or get a chance at something better for free (with a semi decent chance at getting nothing). Keeping the buff allows for stats like stacking a momma bear buff, being able to buff your buffers, etc.
So again, rather than admit their mistake in Barov, they just remove pogos rather than resetting buffs on the swapped unit like they should have.
The Lil Rag to 6 was desperately needed.
I am baffled they have done nothing to fix pirates. Pirates are absolutely terrible and minor stat buffs on the mid range units do nothing. They have no end game, and even their best build of infinite Hogger money loses to divine shield and poisonous.
Speaking of, Amalgadon continues to ruin the game and was not touched.
Instead of removing them how about a rework for the old heroes?
