I hope that they add the Rainbow Cardback to the shop (I got it back when it was current content and use it ever since). 

It would be cool to see who else belongs to the Alphabet Gang.

If anything, it'd be a kind of obsession depending on how intense they are about collecting card backs. Potentially obsessive-compulsive if they deem it to be a problem but can't stop themselves; otherwise a healthy or neutral obsession.

I dunno. I see a card back I don't have and I'm immediately buying it, with gold if I have enough, with cash if I don't. I'm sure there a psychological name for that phenomenon :)

true, you should at least be happy to have something for free ... when someone now has to pay to get it !! that alone shoud be satisfaction ....

Since the cardbacks were originally offered as limited time exclusives then there is always room for debate when they return at a later date for any reason. So for some what you call childish is their sense of accomplishment or dedication. That level of accomplishment is diminished if said achievements are meant to be exclusive but then aren't. Even if they have no baring on the core game play, they are offered as a carrot on a stick reward for players. And while the promise of exclusivity isn't binding, it's poor on brand loyalty to disregard those promises to make a quick buck in the short term.

The only one I will like to have is the pre-book for Blackrock mountain, at that time I bought it with gold, for the rest, I miss the first year of hearthstone ladder but at that time card back weren't that pretty, maybe the pirate one with the pirates deck go well

This card back is not "hard earned" if you got it for free by achieving rank 20 in a month from 2017. People are now paying 500 gold for it.

Your collection is already worthless. You pay blizzard for renting your collections. You can't trade them and you are not allowed to sell nor share your account.
