Hotfix For The Galakrond Armor Bug & Micro Mummy Returning In The Next Major Update
Blizzard just announced a hotfix for the Galakrond armor bug. This patch is currently being deployed and will take place on the server-side.
Quote from BlizzardHey everyone,
We’re currently deploying a hotfix that addresses the following:
Fixed a visual bug where armor totals would not update properly after playing Galakrond.
This is a server-side fix, so you won’t need to download anything if you’ve already updated to 18.2.
Quote from BlizzardWe're planning for Micro Mummy to return to Battlegrounds in our next major update.
If you don't know what's all that about:
In this part, you can see that this bug made cagnetta99 miss the lethal damage and in the end, he lost this match because of it (time 52:22).
In this second part, you can see the armor not being destroyed despite bombs hitting his opponent for 9 damage, that's where it all started (time 50:16).
Correction to this part:
"this bug made cagnetta99 miss the lethal damage and in the end, he lost this match because of it"
He lost the game because of it, he still won the match.
Thing is, Mechs need something better than Mecharoo. This one seems to have potential but if they cannot find a way to make it work, they should look at some other cheap mech. Glowtron could work (Annoy-o-Tron would probably be too weak).
Can't play minions after freezing trap is just so annoying bug that needs to be fixed asap!
No word on the Battlegrounds lag since the last patch?
I mean, I did not know about the bug but the moment those bombs went flying and the priest's health started going down while the armor stayed there, it was obvious something was wrong.
I understand that bugs just exist. That is fact...BUT...if some bug has influence on such a important game, it is really danger.
It's easy for bugs to slip through the cracks for small indie companies.
I mean, Epic made a direct payment build of Fortnite and Apple didn’t check shit
Incredible how long it can take to fix one card. Then again, they've been working for years on Nozdormu...
To make a fix, they have to send the new build to apple and get their approval and wait for it. You cant just update the game on mobile devices, you cant even hotfix anything without an approval period. Same shit with playmarket, albeit much faster.
Also, after fixing a single card their QA have to test its interactions with every single other card, combinations of cards, events both past and planned, tavern brawls, singleplayer content and board, on every test device and platform. A lot of it is hopefully automatic, but not everything. And then they find some obscure bug like "wild pyro and flamewaker remain stealthed after triggering their ability for the first time after receiving stealth from a spell" (which happened when flamewaker was already in wild) and the whole process starts again.
What I'm saying is big enterprise development is always extremely slow, and it becomes even slower with that much variant and that many platforms.
Also, I dont think its possible to fix Nozdormu, at all. The card is basically incompatible with how the turnmeter is handled, with all this turn leakings and random turn meter crutches for specific cards. I'm surprised it hasnt been moved to the hall of fame yet.

My point: Mistakes happen. Everywhere. Coding millions of lines with maybe hundreds of groups, loops and interactions between each other is no exception. The NFL is no exepction either, nor is regular football or any other sport. Calm down with your elitist behaviour.
Yes, you can't understand. Because you don't know how coding works apparently. So, stop bitching.
Bugs are part of software development, I don't really understand all the anger. There are measures to limit bugs but as code grows it becomes very complicated and bugs can creep in. Users are very good at doing things you not been able to test for. I would be surprised if any high end software was realised bug free.
"Old" things can be effected just as easily as new

How do you know, you work for Blizzard? Blizzard could easily have an employees bonus reward system based on objectives and one of the objectives may very well be to reduce the amount of introduced bugs. I work as a developer, not in gaming industry though, and my bonus is dependent on such an objective among others. Would you expect Blizzard to make it a public knowledge if it was so? No reason for that..., also comparing it to NFL where being a referee is a prestige position and extremely well compensated is really not fair.
"video game companies cant be allowed to create bugs"
if they are making game for profit competitive, no.
In an NFL game, if the refs completely misrepresented how much yards were needed for a first down, screwing one of the teams over, they would be punished after the game and possibly suspended.
But Blizzard? Eh, just a bug, whatever, we fixed it.
Good thing this isn't an NFL game
You're a big smart boy though, so surely you can recognise a visual bug when you see it and play accordingly, like the rest of us?
